In the beginning, it may seem that The Precinct lacks a strong story, but near the end, players learn more about the current and former ties between the Averno City Police and the notorious criminal organization known as the August Gang.

The final mission of The Precinct gives players two choices that will come with different consequences. Once Nick Cordell recovers all the facts about the August Gang case, he can either take the evidence to a news station and let them publish the truth, or he can get rid of it and let secrets remain secrets. If you're not sure whether to publish or destroy the August Gang evidence in The Precinct, read on to learn the consequences and results of each choice.

The Precinct: How to Drive All Rare Vehicles

Unlocking the Hidden in the Hood achievment/trophy requires players to find and drive 10 rare vehicles in The Precinct. Here's where to find them.

Spoiler Alert: The rest of the article will reveal both endings of The Precinct.

Publishing The Evidence In The Precinct

To publish the evidence, players need to take it to the ACTV building in the city and give it to the news station. Taking this path will result in huge public backlash over the precinct's actions. Chief Jackson will be fired from the police station, and a new chief will take his place.

Furthermore, publishing the evidence will cause people to lose respect for Cordell's father, the former chief. As a result, his memorial statue will be removed from the city, which is a big emotional hit for Nick Cordell, but that's the kind of sacrifice that needs to be made to let the people of Averno City know the truth.

Chief Singh - The Precinct Ending

When the new chief arrives at the office, she will admire Nick's courage in publishing the evidence. Nick's colleagues in the precinct will also mostly approve of his decision to make the right choice.

Destroying The Evidence In The Precinct

If the player decides to get rid of the evidence, they will need to take it to Chief Cordell's monument and burn the case. Unlike publishing the evidence, where Nick's role is downplayed against the major corruption inside the precinct, after destroying the evidence, newspapers will glorify Nick Cordell for taking down the head of the August Gang and rescuing Chief Jackson.

Jackson will remain in his role as chief at the police station. After recovering from his injury, Jackson will express his appreciation to Nick for his discretion, promising he will reach higher ranks within the office due to his dedication.

Chief Jackson - The Precinct Ending

Similar to the previous choice, Nick's colleagues in the office will still support him for not revealing the truth about the August Gang and their ties with the precinct. Also, Cordell gets heartwarming messages from his colleagues stating that his father remains a hero in Averno City, regardless of his mistakes.

No matter your decision, the game will return to its sandbox mode once the main story is over. Players will again be able to take shifts, patrol in the city, and arrest criminals. Ranking up will still be in effect in case you have not yet reached the maximum rank. Also, you can still participate in side activities like racing or searching for collectibles.
