LOTR: Return to Moria features an expansive world with tons of hidden locations and materials waiting to be discovered. Farming is a crucial gameplay mechanic in the game and players can grow a variety of plants to ensure their dwarves never go hungry. This detailed guide will cover everything that gamers need to know about farming in The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria.
The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria - How to Change Your Dwarf’s Appearance
Changing a dwarf’s appearance is fairly straightforward in Return to Moria. Here’s how players can do so.
Farming in LOTR: Return to Moria
It may sound obvious, but before farming, players will need a farming place. In the case of Return to Moria, players will require a Farm Patch or Farm Box. However, these items are not unlocked by default, so players will have to craft them. Here are the recipes for both:
Farm Patch
- 2 x Bat Droppings
- 3 x Ihraz Granite.
Farm Box
- 6 x Bat Droppings
- 10 x Ihraz Granite.
Luckily, both these items are quite easy to acquire. Bat Droppings can be obtained by killing bats, while Ihraz Granite can be mined in the Lower Deeps area. After reaching there, players will find deposits of various ores, including Iron and Bronze. While mining, keep an eye on the granite surrounding the ore, as it will drop as Ihraz Granite.
Apart from a farming place, lighting is another crucial factor when it comes to farming in Return to Moria. It is important to note that different plants have different lighting needs, and seeds can be divided into two types, i.e., Dark seeds and Light seeds. Plants like mushrooms fall into the category of Dark Seeds as they don’t require much light to grow. Cabbage, on the other hand, is a light seed and needs light to grow.
| Plant | Type |
| Mushroom | Dark Seed |
| Poison Mushroom | Dark Seed |
| Khuzdul Oat | Light Seed |
| Fennel | Light Seed |
| Chive | Light Seed |
| Aule Bloom | Light Seed |
| Aberrant Cavecap | Dark Seed |
| Mint | Light Seed |
| Mountain Potato | Light Seed |
| Thanazutsam | Light Seed |
| White Beans | Light Seed |
| Thyme | Yes Seed |
Once players have their desired seeds, they can head to a farm patch or box. Next, simply plant a seed and make sure it’s planted in the right lighting.
