A longtime Zelda fan captures 10 of the franchise's most iconic title screens in a single image by gathering and running multiple Nintendo consoles. The Legend of Zelda has been a mainstay franchise for Nintendo ever since the company's first home console, the Nintendo Entertainment System.

This past May, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom released as the sequel to Breath of the Wild, which was available at launch with the Nintendo Switch console in March 2017. Link is separated from Zelda after an expedition underneath Hyrule Castle goes wrong, and his arm has been replaced with one from Rauru, the first king of Hyrule. After undergoing a brief trial in the Great Sky Island, Link descends to mainland Hyrule in order to find Zelda, learn more about what has transpired in his absence, and defeat his archenemy, Ganondorf. The premise of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is not too dissimilar from past entries in the long-running series, but the title has several new areas and gameplay mechanics.

Zelda fan HappyPond managed to capture an image of 10 title screens from various Zelda games running across a myriad of Nintendo consoles. On the far left-hand side of the image, the very first game in the series may be seen running on The Legend of Zelda Game & Watch system, which was released in 2021. The title screen for the most recent game in the series, Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, may be seen on the far right-hand side of the image. Multiple Nintendo home consoles and handheld systems may be seen running the title screen of Zelda games that were released between the original title's launch in 1986 and 2023's Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. These games include The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD for the Wii U and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for the GameCube and Wii consoles.

According to HappyPond, taking the photo proved to be a challenge since all 10 consoles and its respective Zelda games must be synchronized. Certain Nintendo consoles may take longer to boot up and reach the title screen of a game, so HappyPond spent time adjusting the hardware to ensure all 10 games were active at the title screen at the same time. Fortunately, The Legend of Zelda games for Nintendo 3DS appear to have been the easiest ones to set up since the titles run on the same hardware.

Although HappyPond went through a trial and error process while setting up all the Nintendo consoles and Zelda games, the image turned out quite well with each title screen being displayed vividly for fans to see. Some games from the complete Zelda timeline are missing, but the image still demonstrates the rich histories of Nintendo and this beloved game franchise.
