Although The Legend of Zelda movie was scheduled for March 26th, 2027, it has been delayed to May 2027. The delay can be viewed positively because if the film was released in March 2027, it would have had to go up against Sonic the Hedgehog 4 during its second weekend in theaters. The Legend Of Zelda Movie Has Cast Link And Zelda

Variety reported that the two main characters have been cast in The Legend of Zelda movie adaptation. Benjamin Evan Ainsworth will play Link and Bo Bragason will play Zelda.

Shigeru Miyamoto posted the news on social media and wrote, “I am very much looking forward to seeing both of them on the big screen.”

Fans are curious about what tone the Legend of Zelda movie will have, especially many are uncertain that a live-action movie is the best path to take. Many are curious about what an animated film could be like and think that CGI could be used in cool and creative ways. Still, several fans reacted to the casting news in a Reddit thread, and many were excited. One wrote:

However, he said, "I'm one of you," as he's a huge fan.

Ainsworth will be familiar to fans of the Netflix fantasy series The Sandman as he starred in one episode. He also played young Miles in Mike Flanagan's Netflix horror series The Haunting of Bly Manor, which was adapted from the Henry James novella The Turn of the Screw. Bragason starred in the funny horror movie The Radleys, which was released in 2024, along with the crime TV series The Jetty. There's no doubt that their casting will make them even more well-known in Hollywood. Hopefully, in the next little while, fans will hear more exciting casting news.
