The Last of Us Part 1 PC port has crossed a significant sales milestone according to figures shared by Sony. The franchise's massive popularity grew even further over the past few months thanks to the recently concluded HBO TV series, which was shortly followed by the PC release of The Last of Us Part 1. While it's been less than two months since its launch, the game already seems to show promise for Sony.

Originally released in 2013, The Last of Us Part 1 made its way to PC on March 28 as one of the most anticipated titles for the platform in 2023. However, it's worth noting that the PC version of The Last of Us Part 1 wasn't the smoothest release for the PlayStation maker. The title was plagued with many glitches from day one, prompting the developer to push patches for The Last of Us PC port on a regular basis. Although Naughty Dog is still ironing out the kinks, the game has already made its mark as a notable entry among Sony's slate of PC ports.

In its latest Games and Network Services presentation, Sony points out that The Last of Us Part 1 on PC has amassed $15.5 million in revenue as of April 23, 2023, nearly a month into its release. Even though the game managed to sell over 368,000 copies, the initial reception for The Last of Us PC port might have hindered its sales. However, Head of PlayStation Studios Herman Hulst claims that "PC has grown to be a substantial part" of Sony's business and attributes The Last of Us PC port as one of the reasons.

Apart from The Last of Us, Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered has also gained some significant ground on PC since its release. Insomniac's title already broke sales records where Marvel's Spider-Man on PC surpassed God of War in its opening week. According to Sony's latest figures, Marvel's Spider-Man has sold over 1.5 million copies on PC and has accounted for $52 million in revenue.

Interestingly, the company's report comes less than a day away from the much-anticipated May 24 PlayStation Showcase event. Fans expect Sony to tease a number of high-profile titles including Spider-Man 2, Death Stranding 2, Metal Gear Solid 3 remake, and possibly details on The Last of Us multiplayer project. While it remains to be seen what Sony has in store for gamers, 2023 is already shaping up to be an interesting year for PlayStation fans. It will be interesting to see how the company pushes ahead in the PC space amid a growing appeal for its titles.

The Last of Us Part 1 is available on PC and PS5.
