How to Get Europan Drone Components in The Forever Winter

The Forever Winter is a Sci-Fi Extraction Shooter/Survival Horror that, in early access at least, likes to throw players right into the deep end. The game has players navigating warzones and retrieving crucial supplies for their hidden settlement, while hostile soldiers and hulking war machines roam and destroy with impunity.

One early quest in The Forever Winter that can be particularly harsh for new players requires you to retrieve Europan Drone parts. While you only need three, these drones can be hard to find unless you know exactly where and what to look for, and there's even a chance for them not to drop the necessary parts when killed. This guide will explain the easiest ways to find Europan Drone parts and clear this quest, unlocking more quest givers and gaining access to more of the game in the process.

Where to Find Europan Drones

Two Europan Drone spawn locations are fairly easy to find early on. Make sure to stock up on medical supplies and a decent amount of ammo before you try to hunt them down. The Image above shows what they look like.

Scorched Enclave (Slower but Safer)

If you're willing to wait a long time and potentially repeat the mission over and over, you could deploy to the Scorched Enclave. Starting from either the Cemetary or the Cliffs, keep an eye out for floating cylindrical drones and either shoot them out of the air or let the soldiers and other hostiles in the area take them down for you. This is the slowest, but least dangerous, method of getting the Drone parts you need since the Scorched Enclave is easier to navigate than the alternative.

They can spawn all over the area and will usually float across the battlefield, picking fights with any hostile target that enters their searchlights.

Mech Trenches (Faster but Riskier)

If you're willing to put yourself in a little more danger, start from the Tunnel Entry Point in the Mech Trenches, heading up the stairs and turning right to find an opening into the trenches proper. A lot of the time, 2-3 Europan Drones will spawn near this opening, allowing you to use the boxes nearby as cover while you shoot them down and then loot them for parts. This is the method used in the video example at the top of the article.

This method is riskier because the Mech Trenches are full of narrow tunnels that are harder to navigate and filled with dangerous enemies, making it easier to get trapped between a rock and a hard place as you head to the extraction point.
