The First Descendant follows the pathway of many RPGs and shooters before it. The game is about Descendants, who are humans with inhuman abilities to do some pretty marvelous things.

One thing that the game does similarly to other RPGs is that it has a Prestige system, which is very close to the New Game Plus systems of today's RPGs. This allows players to restart with some amazing perks. Here's how to reset your character level in the game.

Shape Stabilizers will be something all players should know about, and why they should be using them before opening Amorphous Materials.

What Is The Character Prestige System In The First Descendant

Character Prestige allows players to reset their level with a Descendant. Once reaching the max level (40) with any Descendant, players can reset that Descendant's level to 1 and will gain some perks. The Descendant will have an additional Module Socket, which can be super helpful when leveling the Descendant up again. Additionally, the Prestige can be done multiple times, so the player can experience leveling their favorite Descendant over and over again.

Overall, using the Prestige system and resetting the character level is completely worth it, especially if it is a Descendant that players plan on using more throughout the game.

How To Reset Your Character Level In The First Descendant

Resetting character level is actually much easier than it may originally seem like. First, players need to obtain a Crystallization Catalyst, which can be made using research materials found throughout the game. The item's in-game description reads, "A catalyst with a property of absorbing and crystallizing various energy sources. Resets the target's level and can be used to assign socket types to modules upon use." Players will need to have a neutral Socket Type so that they can insert the item and assign a Socket Type to it upon resetting the level. To do this, go to the Descendant Modules option, Modify Additional Settings, Assign Module Socket Type, and then players will see the screen to prestige.

Here's a breakdown of the required items for creating a Crystallization Catalyst. Once players have all this, they can head to Anais and speak to her about researching the item.

  • X8 Murky Energy Residue
  • x28 Macromolecule Biogel
  • x8 Mixed Energy Residue
  • x18 Advanced Neural Circuit
  • x1 Crystallization Catalyst Blueprint
  • 187,500 Gold

Players will want to have the most powerful builds they can for the end game, so they will need to know when to make use of Energy Activators.

Additionally, players can obtain the Crystallization Catalyst in other ways. Here is a breakdown of those ways, and thankfully, some are a little easier than others (though some of these will take a long time to complete).

  • Purchase from the Premium Shop for x300 Caliber.
  • Reach Mastery Rank 12
  • Complete the mission "Intercept Battle: Hanged Man."
  • Complete the mission "Enhanced Void Training: A Short Respite."
