The Deep Shadow armor is one of the better sets for aggressive Spear users in The First Berserker: Khazan. It's a set that's meant for players who prefer rushing headlong into a fight, giving them the extra stats they need to overpower enemies via direct assaults.
Like other armor sets in First Berserker Khazan, players can either farm for the Deep Shadow set, or craft it from the blacksmith in the Crevice. If you're not sure where to go or what to do to get all the pieces for this set, here's a quick guide to help you out.
The First Berserker Khazan: 7 Things You Should Never Buy From Merchants
There are a couple of items that are simply not worth spending hard-earned coins on in The First Berserker: Khazan.
The First Berserker Khazan: How to Farm the Deep Shadow Set
Pieces from the Deep Shadow armor set can randomly drop from enemies, though specific Knivesveil Bandits seem to have a higher drop rate for this set compared to most others.
One good spot where you can farm for the Deep Shadow set is in the Traitor Revealed mission. There's an elite Knivesveil Executioner at the other side of the second Blade Nexus. Make your way to it, then defeat it for a random armor piece drop, which can include ones from the Deep Shadow set.
You can reach the elite enemy by following the path to the right of the Blade Nexus, then going up to the rooftops via a ladder in an alleyway.
Normally, elite enemies do not respawn when killed. If you want to farm any elite enemy in the game, you'll need to quit back to the main menu screen. After that, you should load back to your most recent Blade Nexus. All enemies, including elites, will have respawned by then.
Higher-level missions will drop higher-level loot. If you see a Knivesveil Executioner close to a Blade Nexus in future missions, try farming them instead.
Deep Shadow Set Scroll Location
The scroll for the Deep Shadow set is near the beginning of the Devoured Village mission. From the first Blade Nexus, go to the house/tower left of the village's well, and use the ladders to get to the roof. Once you reach the roof, go to the nearby hole and drop down onto the wooden beam below. The scroll should be on a corpse hanging from the beam.
Deep Shadow Set Overview
With six pieces of the Deep Shadow set equipped, you'll gain the following stats and bonuses:
- (2) 15% Stamina DMG Increase from Frontal Attacks
- (3) 10% Frontal Assault DMG Increase
- (4) 90% Guard Penetration
- (5) 15% DMG Increase for the Assault skill
- (6) 20% DMG Increase for the Afterimage Thrust skill
This set is designed to help players take enemies down in head-on confrontations. The 90% Guard Penetration bonus is especially useful against bosses and enemies that can block, and it also makes sure that the Frontal Assault bonuses do not get wasted.
Also, it's worth noting that the Epic version of the Deep Shadow set's Formless Warrior's Spear grants the Assault: Skyfall skill, which adds a strong finishing move to the Assault skill. You can use this skill even without the Deep Shadow set, as long as you're using the Formless Warrior's Spear.
