The Elder Scrolls Online continues to get content at a steady pace and a new story DLC has just been released for the game. This add-on is titled Deadlands and it is now available for PC/Mac as well as Stadia, with the console version releasing later this month on November 16.
Deadlands is the culmination of the Gates of Oblivion saga that started earlier this year with the Flames of Ambition DLC. Every year, ESO receives a major chapter during summer in addition to three other add-ons, one features a new zone while the other two consist of dungeons. Deadlands is the zone DLC for the Gates of Oblivion story, and it marks the finale of another year of ESO content from ZeniMax Online Studios.
Bethesda has uploaded a new gameplay video that serves as a launch trailer for Deadlands, which adds the city of Fargrave to The Elder Scrolls Online. The trailer focuses on the new explorable locations from this DLC, while also showing footage of some of the unique monsters that inhabit the land. The bosses of Deadlands look especially imposing. Players will be facing off against Mehrunes Dagon, the Daedric Prince of Destruction, who also lends his voice to the trailer. This battle occurs during three bonus quests that are only unlocked after completing the main story quests of both Blackwood and Deadlands.
The Deadlands DLC has launched alongside Update 32 which is free for all ESO users. One of its main features includes a new Armory System that allows players to effortlessly switch their builds, thereby reducing the time it takes to optimize their abilities for different activities. It also adds curated drops for sets, which will aim to reduce the grind required to earn powerful gear. This new system will attempt to drop set items that have not been previously obtained by that particular player.
Deadlands is free for all members of the ESO Plus subscription service, but it can also be purchased for 2000 Crowns. A digital collector’s bundle is available for 4000 crowns which comes with the Nightmare Bear mount, the Deadlands Bantam Guar pet, and Crown Experience Scrolls.
Last month, Bethesda had launched a new promotion that allowed players to unlock Deadlands for free by working together in an in-game activity. The requirement for that tier of rewards has been met, and anyone who owns the Blackwood chapter can now play Deadlands at no extra cost.
The Elder Scrolls Online is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
