When it comes to making choices in video games, many players prefer to know ahead of time what the consequences of their actions will be. This is even more so true in The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me, but with so many choices to make, it can be very hard to keep track of what options lead to what outcomes. This is especially problematic for players attempting to get the Rekindled Trophy/Achievement, which requires the player to get Kate and Mark back together. This may sound like a simple task, but amidst all the main character death in the story, players will need to make a series of specific choices to accomplish this.
To simplify things, players need only look at dialogue options in a few specific scenes of the The Devil in Me to get this trophy. There are also some slight differences depending on whether players are enjoying the Theatrical Cut or the Curator's Cut. As a general rule, try to increase Kate and Mark's relationship with each other whenever possible unless stated otherwise in one of the interactions below.
Rekindled Trophy Guide: Theatrical Cut
There are three different scenes that players need to look out for in order to rekindle Kate and Mark's relationship. In the following scenes, pick the following dialogue options:
Scouting (Playing as Mark)
- EARNEST
- REASSURING
- HESITANT
- SERIOUS
- ENCOURAGING
Dinner (Playing as Mark)
- EMPATHETIC
- BITTER
- SUPPORTIVE
Wall (Playing as Kate)
- COMPLIANT
- CONFUSED
- SURPRISED
- APPREHENSIVE
- KISS
Rekindled Trophy Guide: Curator's Cut
In the curator's cut, players only have to look out for two specific scenes, but should still try and maximize Mark and Kate's relationship outside of these interactions. Both of these scenes are played from Mark's perspective in the Curator's Cut. Once again, just pick the following dialogue options in the following scenes when prompted.
Scouting
- EARNEST
- REASSURING
- HESITANT
- SERIOUS
- ENCOURAGING
Wall
- TENDER
- CONFIDENT
- KISS
Some players have reported having some issues with this trophy. It appears that if things don't go perfectly, it's possible for the AI to interrupt certain conversations and throw things off. Unfortunately, that means players may simply have to try several times in order to get this trophy unlocked, which is unfortunate considering the "Wall" chapter is almost halfway through The Devil in Me's story. Either way, with some persistence, players should be able to see Mark and Kate rekindle their relationship.
The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
