This article contains potential spoilers for The Boys Season 5

Summary

  • Leak reveals the potential debut of the new superteam Teenage Kix in the upcoming season of The Boys.
  • Fans anticipate plot details from photos of Vought vehicles with 'Freedom Camps' and 'Kix Mobile.'
  • The fifth season of The Boys, which will premiere in 2026 on Prime Video, will be the final installment.

The Boys won’t be premiering its final season on Prime Video for at least another year, but a recent leak has given fans some concrete looks into what the upcoming fifth season could entail in terms of new characters and ongoing crises.

The Boys hit the live-action superhero genre at a time when the general consensus was that viewers were getting a bit tired of the genre, and this would prove to be an auspicious bit of timing. Bringing the maximum possible level of subversion to the tropes that the MCU and DCEU had been running ragged for years, the show would attract massive attention and garner a loyal fanbase of newcomers for its troubles. Fans of the original comic book run would also hop on board, as while the books were novel and enjoyable for some, no one could argue they were particularly well-written. The Boys would also get increasingly polarizing over time, but the show’s fourth season still managed to top season three despite being divisive and putting off some fans with its more blatantly political lean. With the conclusion of the fourth season, fans were greeted with the news that the next installment of the show would also be its last.

With the next season still far off from completion, fans have gotten precious little info about plot details and new characters. While Kripke’s reveal of The Boys’ first season 5 set photo gave nothing away, some recently leaked set images go in the opposite direction entirely and give fans a major look at more than one plot detail for the incoming series. User LoretiTV on Reddit took to the site’s r/TheBoys subreddit to share these interesting set photos, showing a Vought-sponsored Cleveland Police SWAT vehicle and a Vought-branded bus with the inscription “Follow Me To Freedom Camps” printed on the side along with cartoon versions of Homelander, Black Noir and Firecracker. Rounding up the upload are two different shots of a vehicle labeled the “Kix Mobile” and branded with the faces of three young supes alongside some social media information and a QR code.

With the final episode of season four ending in a montage depicting many of the main characters being captured, the mention of ‘Freedom Camps’ immediately brings to mind the camps discussed earlier in the season in Tek Knight’s mansion. This could set up some interesting action in the upcoming season, and the SWAT vehicle could be linked to that as well. For fans familiar with the source material, the potential addition of Teenage Kix could be the more interesting titbit. In the comics, Teenage Kix is a superteam made up of younger Supes and intended as a parody of the Teen Titans and other similar groups of teenage superheroes. The show has likely made quite a few additions to the cast with no details given about roles, and knowing that Teenage Kix will be in the next season certainly shows the need for the growing roster. It’s a given that the three stars shown on the vehicle’s decal will be members if the team gets any screen time, but there might be even more to discover when the show hits the air. However, fans shouldn’t get too excited just yet, as these vehicles could all be set dressing for a few scenes in the upcoming season without actually showing any of the characters or events that they could be teasing.

While the fifth season of The Boys will bring the gory fan-favorite to an end when it hits streaming sometime next year, that won’t be the last fans see of the universe that Kripke has built up. Gen V was renewed for a second season a while back and the franchise has even announced an all-new project to boot. Fans are still a ways off from getting to see Vought Rising, but The Boys star Aya Cash has given the upcoming series high praise and seems sure that fans will love it as well. If the show can live up to the hype (and Kripke can live with the irony of his work becoming the very thing he satirized), then the future looks good for fans of The Boys even after the original series wraps next year.

The Boys is available to stream on Amazon’s Prime Video, with the fifth and final season expected to hit the streamer in 2026.
