Given Fortnite's global popularity, it's hardly surprising that numerous other companies would want a piece of the pie and take advantage of the game's customization options to include skins based on other popular franchises. So far, the likes of Star Wars, DC Comics, and especially Marvel (which is the whole focus of the current season) have all had their characters make appearances.

So, the question is, what franchise will Epic Games collaborate on next? While Fortnite's probably overflowing with superhero guest stars at this point, from Batman to Wolverine, actor Jack Quaid has expressed a desire to see skins based on superhero show The Boys be included at some point.

In an interview with Comic Book, Quaid, who plays civilian vigilante Hughie Campbell in the Amazon series, reveals that he has been playing a lot of Fortnite  as of late due to the coronavirus pandemic and thinks The Boys  would be a perfect fit for Epic Games' battle royale.

"There's so many legal things to figure out with that, but I've been spending a lot of my time playing Fortnite with Jessie T Usher who plays A-Train, in quarantine. That's what you do...And every time I play, I'm like, 'This is perfect for our characters, just for skins.' But yeah, man, it just makes so much sense. It makes so much sense. It needs to be a thing."

This isn't the first video game related idea Quaid has had, as he has previously shared some of his own ideas for The Boys  games, like a tabletop RPG or something developed by Rocksteady, the studio behind the Batman: Arkham  games and the upcoming Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

Of course, Quaid likely has no say on such a deal even happening, but this could potentially spark a conversation between Epic and the show's producers. However, given that The Boys  is aimed at mature audiences and features a very dark and cynical tone, Epic may think twice about incorporating any of it into Fortnite.

A large chunk of Fortnite's audience consists of young children, something that the likes of Marvel and Star Wars can be marketed to. Promoting a purely adult series like The Boys  in an otherwise cartoony game could result in controversy and a backlash from parents.

These are things that Epic most definitely doesn't need at the moment, as it is still in the midst of its lawsuit with Apple. The antagonism between the two companies has only been escalating as of late, with Apple now warning that Fortnite won't be returning to its app store until 2021 at the earliest.

This doesn't appear to be stopping Epic from continuing to do some cross-promotion. Recently, it's struck a deal to provide anyone who buys Star Wars: Squadrons  on the Epic Games Store a free X-Wing Glider to use in Fortnite.

Fortnite  is available on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
