Deathloop provides players with a variety of powers and gameplay modifiers in the form of Slabs and Trinkets. This list focuses on character Trinkets, the ones that change Colt's stats.
Depending on the combination, Colt can become an unstoppable machine, either being a master at stealth or action. Just remember; collecting these is only one part of the puzzle. Afterward, players have to infuse the Trinket with Residuum to keep it through loops. Otherwise, the item is lost once the day resets. The best Trinkets in Deathloop help make killing Visionaries a cakewalk.
Updated on October 2, 2022, by Jason Wojnar: It is surprising to see that it took over a year for Deathloop to finally come to Xbox. Even though Bethesda and Microsoft announced their partnership prior to the game's release, the companies still had to honor a previous exclusivity deal. With the game finally on the new system, it is as good a time as ever to revisit this list. The game is not only on a new console but there is also a new Golden Loop update for every release that adds a new Slab power, new enemies, upgrades for Juliana's Masquerade ability, a new weapon, and an extended ending. Whether one is going through the game again or for the first time, this small Trinket guide will help make the best build for Colt.
14 Stab N Grab - Melee Kills Give You Bullets
This is a great Trinket depending on one's gameplay style. The idea of melee kills giving Colt extra ammunition to take down enemies almost reminds one of the recent Doom games.
Players can keep the destruction going if they do a nice balance of shooting and melee kills. It might not make a lot of sense, but Deathloop was never about realism. Ammunition is not always at the ready, either, so it is a good trinket to have if one wants to hold on to one weapon for a long time.
13 Swift Stitch - Regenerate Health Faster
Switch Stitch, which regenerates health at a faster rate, is a simple trinket but it is useful all the same. More reckless players will definitely consider this trinket so they do not have to take cover as long before jumping back into the action.
This one is definitely on the lower end of the best trinkets because of how uninteresting it is. However, if it is the only one of its type the player has, it can be an invaluable tool.
12 Vampire - Receiving Health As You Damage Enemies
This one is not as creative as some of the more unconventional Trinkets Colt finds throughout Deathloop, but it is a helpful one nonetheless. Players who are into more traditional combat will get a lot of mileage out of this Trinket.
Colt simply receives health as he damages enemies. The name tells players pretty much everything they need to know about the Trinket. Though it is useful, Vampire is not as intriguing or conducive to creative gameplay moments as other Trinkets on this list.
11 Remote Overload: Detonate Hacked Devices
Where the Mine Own Trinket lets Colt deactivate and detonate mines from a distance, Remote Overload lets players detonate any hacked device. This is more in line with what Deathloop's gameplay is all about. With so many hackable devices around, this Trinket is perfect for sadistically playing with the AI.
A major complaint about the game is how dumb the enemies are at times, but this lends to the game's playful sandbox gameplay. Use this Trinket, along with many others, to enact some cruelty on the enemies patrolling Black Rock Island. It can even be used to creatively take out some of the Visionaries.
10 Mine Own - Hack And Disable Mines
Mines traditionally can only be deactivated by shooting them or crouching toward them and doing it by hand. With the Mine Own Trinket, players can deactivate them from a distance in the same way they would hack a sensor or ballistic turret.
They can also manually detonate them from a distance, creating traps for guards. This comes particularly in handy during certain Leads where players sneak through a minefield.
9 Renewable - Fast Power Regeneration
Any player who uses their Slab powers often would be smart to equip this Trinket. Power regenerates relatively fast, but it only helps to regenerate it faster.
Certain Slabs use up power quickly and equipping this Trinket only helps players use it more often. It also helps certain Slabs like Aether and Nexus last longer, giving players more time to line up shots or be invisible.
8 Creeping Death - Reduced Movement Noise
Sometimes players just want to zoom past enemies without getting noticed. Creeping Death helps exponentially in this regard. It also helps with stealth. If Colt runs up fast enough to a single guard, he can kill them even if they see him and prevent them from raising an alarm.
Once players are familiar with a certain level and know where their objective is, this helps them zoom to the place where they need to be without getting spotted.
7 Cat Fall - Less Fall Damage
Deathloop is already pretty generous with fall damage. Players can fall a great distance before taking damage, and even significantly more before dying.
However, some want the extra security offered by the Cat Fall Trinket. True to the name, the Trinket helps Colt fall further before taking damage. Cats are known for their ability to fall from great heights; now, Colt can too.
6 Extended Signal - Further Hacking Range
Stealthy players rely heavily on hacking. Sensors and ballistic turrets crowd up the levels and turning them to Colt's side makes sneaking through stages easier.
However, the range of hacking is limited at first. W ith Extended Signal, players can hack from further away. Getting too close runs the risk of enemies or the turret spotting Colt, so doing it from far away assists with stealth runs.
5 Swift Shadow - Faster Crouching
Players make noise when they walk without crouching or running. Those who go for close executions are probably crouching their way through levels.
These types of players are best served by equipping the Swift Shadow Trinket, which makes Colt move faster when crouching. There are also some moments when players are crouching under lasers or through ducts, and this helps make these segments go by faster.
