The Batman movie with Robert Pattinson in the title role has been delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic, with production on the film completely halted for the time being. This is unfortunate for those starring in the film, including Colin Farrell, who has expressed excitement at being able to return to work and finish filming his scenes.
Speaking to GMA, Farrell, who is playing the Penguin in the movie, teased some of his scenes. Farrell said that he has "some tasty scenes" in The Batman and "can't wait to get back." Farrell also revealed that he apparently won't be featured all that extensively in the movie, however. "I haven't got that much to do. I have a certain amount in the film. I am not all over it by any means," Farrell in the interview.
With Farrell's Penguin not being featured extensively in The Batman, it leaves one to wonder who the movie will use as its primary villain. Other Batman villains included in the film include Catwoman and The Riddler, so it stands to reason that one or both of them will be the main antagonist in the new movie. However, that's just speculation at this time. There's not even a trailer for The Batman yet, so a lot about the movie has remained a mystery.
The Batman release date is October 1, 2021, so we should learn plenty more about the film before then. Hopefully it is able to resume production sooner rather than later so that the filmmakers aren't forced to delay it yet again.
The Batman will premiere in theaters on October 1, 2021.
