Most True Dragons were born that way, with Rimuru being the only one who worked his way up there. With their nigh-infinite abilities, the True Dragons rarely come across worthy adversaries outside of themselves, and their differing specializations come with different attitudes. With abilities such as slowing time, creating multilevel dimension barriers, being able to copy all known skills, and creating copies of existences at the level of True Dragons, the skills of the True Dragons in the That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime series truly know no bounds.
5 “Storm Dragon” Veldora Tempest
Incarnation Of Chaos
The Great Storm Dragon is one of the first friends Rimuru makes after his reincarnation after he stumbles upon him in an area with a large magic concentration. This area was supposed to be the Infinity Prison the Hero used to imprison Veldora after thousands of years of terrorizing humans. Since he is the incarnation of the force of chaos, Veldora constantly feels the urge to go on rampages that can instantly destroy nations with his ability to create storms through the manipulation of water, wind, and space.
He constantly tries to challenge his sisters, Velgrynd and Velzard, who are much more experienced and powerful than he is, to prove a point to himself. However, he learned just how much more powerful they were than him after several cycles of defeat and reincarnations. Veldora and Rimuru share the greatest of connections due to the year he spent inside his stomach, as they share their powers and memories with each other, allowing Veldora to come back from the dead countless times as long as Rimuru lives.
Abilities
As the Storm Dragon, Veldora has many abilities that even his epithet cannot capture. However, as all True Dragons possess True Dragon magic, Veldora possesses a special subsection of magic called Storm Magic. Storm magic encompasses relatively few spells, but each one of them is enough to wipe a city to the ground. One of the spells encompassed in Strom Magic is Dark Lightning, which summons a supercharged lightning bolt capable of turning anything, alive or not, to ash. Contrary to expectations, Veldora’s powerful magic isn’t about super complex spells, but simple spells with destructive power akin to a god. While Veldora is relatively powerful as a ‘natural disaster’, he isn’t as powerful as the other True Dragons.
4 “Scorch Dragon” Velgrynd
Incarnation Of Acceleration
Being the third in terms of age and experience among the True Dragons, Velgrynd is also quite powerful. She is a fiery one who has no problem sticking it to Veldora and disciplining him when he gets on her nerves. She can also be quite a force of destruction as she is hot-headed, but she has shown the ability to think rationally and accept the fact that the “Demon Lord” Rimuru defeated her despite not being a True Dragon yet.

As implied from “Scorch Dragon," she has mastery over fire and is the personalization of the concepts of acceleration and momentum, making her the fastest True Dragon, moving at speeds relative to the speed of light. She is a passionate one who will surpass her limits to protect her loved ones, especially her lover, the hero Rudra, with whom she transformed a minor kingdom into the Great Eastern Empire using her might.
Abilities
Contrary to her elder sister, Velgrynd is very passionate and has a lot of energy, personifying her epithet as the Scorch Dragon. As a True Dragon with mastery over flames, Velgrynd’s abilities are already incredibly powerful as she can easily turn the ground into boiling lava of over 2000 degrees. In conjunction with her flames, what makes Velgrynd a true threat is her ability to amplify all her attacks almost infinitely. Considering a simple and basic spell multiplied nearly infinitely would possess incredible strength, how much more Velgrynd’s abilities whose base power already overshadows most? Moreover, while her sister, Velzard can manipulate time and bears the epithet of ‘Incarnation of Deceleration’, Velgrynd counters that by being able to move near the speed of light.
3 “Frost Dragon” Velzard

Despite being the older sibling of Veldora and Velgrynd, she appears to be the youngest physically, as her base form is that of a girl child. That is, until she gets serious in battle and takes on a more adult form, or takes it a step further and becomes a full-fledged dragon. Unlike Velgrynd, she is the incarnation of the concept of deceleration, has control over the flow of time, and lacks compassion.
Veldora’s fear of his elder sisters is mainly due to the punishments he received from Velzard, which severely traumatized him well into adulthood. She is mostly uninterested in the activities in the world and spends most of her time in her Frost Palace, but she is also capable of wide-scale destruction, with Rimuru being one of the two people known to be able to confront her. She has shown the ability to completely freeze over Catastrophe-Class figures without breaking a sweat, a display of the sheer power a True Dragon possesses.
Abilities
As a Frost Dragon, Velzard is ice personified as she displays an utter lack of passion and emotion and only does what suits her. As the incarnation of deceleration, she can control time, but more interestingly, she can easily turn catastrophe-level threats like awakened Demon Lords into mere ice sculptures. In terms of ability, Velzard easily dwarfs Veldora as she can knock him down even with most of her power suppressed. As she suppresses her abilities most of the time, Velzard shines by making her abilities very energy-efficient rather than outright overpowering. However, with her unmatched efficiency, she can use little magic to dominate a battlefield.

Rimuru Tempest is arguably the best Isekai Hero, and it doesn’t even have anything to do with his power.
Rimuru eventually evolves into the fifth True Dragon during the later parts of the series and reincarnates into a dragon’s body while retaining the physical properties of a slime. As the protagonist of the story, it is expected that he ends up as one of the strongest characters, and with the sheer number of overpowered skills, abilities, and hax he has gathered over time, he has certainly done just that.
Abilities
As a Demon Lord, Rimuru already possessed several overpowered abilities; and with that, he continually built up his powers, until he reached the height of True Dragons. With his various abilities centered on assimilation, Rimuru was always absorbing the power of others and eventually developed the skill Azathoth, God of the Void. This skill allows him to create a parallel existence of Veldora and Velgrynd inside him, meaning that he can use their powers, even as they exist in the real world. Moreover, this skill also allows for Veldora and Velgrynd to be nigh unkillable as their bodies and composition can always be created by Rimuru.
1 “Star King Dragon” Veldanava
The Will Of The Creator God
The First True Dragon to come into existence, Veldanava, dubbed the Star King Dragon, exists as the will of the Creator God and, as such, is the most powerful being in the entire verse. Veldanava created the world and everything that exists in it because he was bored and wanted to experience what life would be like if he were not omniscient. Veldanava enjoyed sharing his abilities with his creations, some of them being Rudra Nam Yu Nasca and Guy Crimson.
He continued to do so till he practically became a regular human who could die of old age and decided to live out the rest of his life with his human wife and hybrid child. However, before he ran out of power, he used it all to create a baby dragon, Gaia, to befriend and protect his daughter.
Abilities
Despite being the first True Dragon and creating everything in the world, being all-powerful wasn't interesting to Veldanava, and so, during the time he lived, he continually gave out his abilities. Some of his all-powerful abilities were given to his subjects, others were traded for weaker versions, and others were simply released into the cycle of reincarnation for others to acquire or be born with. Veldanava was the actual owner of abilities such as Uriel, Lord of Vows, and Raguel, Lord of Charity, which was given to Velgrynd. In terms of abilities, Veldanava had no equal, but being the most powerful of all had no meaning to him.
