The Isekai genre is extremely popular in Japan, and because of how overdone Isekai series are, only a few manage to truly stand out in unique ways. One such Isekai series that has stood out as the King of the genre is ‘That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime.’ Slime is, undoubtedly, one of the most popular Isekai series of recent years, if not the most, and be it in Japan or outside, it is easily a series that everyone adores.

2026 is going to be huge for this series, with a new movie following this month and more anime content to come later, but unfortunately, the light novel of ‘That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime’ has officially ended. Volume 23 of this light novel concluded the main story, but this isn't the end of the road for the franchise as a whole. A new light novel, Tensura Gaiden, is coming in 2026, and it will act like a sequel to the original series.
