Summary
- The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is adding a Night variant for The Mill map following the recent release of a Night variant for Nancy's House.
- The Mill - Night will be released for free for all players on July 23.
- Night maps increase the difficulty for both sides, as Family members find it harder to flush Victims out of hiding spots and Victims find it tough to navigate their surroundings.
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is finally getting a long-requested map variant, allowing players to enjoy The Mill at night, a variant Black Tower Studios recently added to Nancy's House. The Mill – Night will shroud the area in darkness, boosting the fear factor for the newest addition to the map pool found in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.
The Mill was introduced on March 28, 2024, following a four-month-long hiatus for new maps following the introduction of Nancy's House in November 2023. The nighttime version of Nancy's House dropped on May 14, 2024, bringing with it a whole new atmosphere for Victims and Family members alike. Along with her own map, Nancy Sawyer was introduced as a purchasable DLC character, along with the new Survivor at the time, Danny. Since The Mill was added to The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, the game has also welcomed the new characters Maria and Hands.
Following an influx of requests from players, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre's new developer, Black Tower Studios, has given The Mill the same treatment as Nancy's House received a few months ago. As an added incentive, The Mill – Night will be free to all players, so unlike the latest Sonny outfit pack, players won't need to spend a dime to enjoy it. Players are interested to see how both Victims and Family members fare without the aid of sunlight on an already disorienting map. Night maps often increase the difficulty for both sides, as Family members find it harder to flush Victims out of hiding spots and Victims find it harder to navigate their surroundings.
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre New Map Variant Release Date
- The Mill – Night will be available to all players for free starting July 23.
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre community has been spoiled for content lately, as the dev team has stayed consistent with new updates, the addition of new characters, map variants, and changes to The Texas Chain Saw Massacre's gameplay mechanics. Furthermore, the game's official Twitter recently announced a pre-order sale for The Texas Chain Saw Massacre 50th Anniversary SteelBook Collectors Edition, including a SteelBook cover designed by Gary Pullin, a physical copy of the game, collectible trading cards, and more.
Night maps can be used tactically to a player's advantage if they have the level 99 Blackout cosmetics. When reaching level 99, players automatically receive custom black attire for the game's base characters. Following the announcement of the new map variant for The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, the developers were revealed to be working on adding Blackout cosmetics for the game's more recently added characters, such as Virginia, Hands, and Maria.
