19 Bunny

An Effective And Cute Early-Game Option

Summoned with the Fuzzy Carrot item, the Bunny mount is an adorable addition to the game. It has top speeds of 40mph and is an excellent early-game mount for those looking to bounce from place to place.

At least when getting around short distances at ground level, the bunny can be useful. Not only are higher jumps granted, but fall damage is also wiped out, yielding greater, less dangerous mobility. This fuzzy mount is awarded to players once they have completed five of the Angler's fishing quests.

18 Bee

A Mobile Bee-hemoth

The Bee mount is one of the best early mounts for Pre-Hardmode. Players can get the Honeyed Goggles from fighting the Queen Bee, located in hives within Jungle biomes. It has a 5% drop rate, so players may need to kill her several times before it drops. Fall damage is canceled with this humble bee even when walking.

The Bee mount can be paired with the Cloud in a Bottle item to get extra flight time and feel as though they are wearing wings! Be careful when around liquid though, as being in contact with it brings a quick dismount.

17 Book (Master Mode)

Flying In Style

While it may seem about as harmless as any item in the game, the Master Mode offering of the Book is among the most useful mounts in Terraria. At least, this is the case when it comes to getting around these vast and lush biomes.

Not unlike Aladdin's magic carpet, this small but mobile item allows players to hover across the skies (in limited fashion), while completely canceling fall damage. Items that yield multiple jumps like Cloud in a Bottle can bump up its fairly limited fixed height of eight tiles.

16 Flamingo

A Graceful Way To Travel By Water

This vibrant pink mount can be purchased from the Zoologist NPC for 20 Gold. The Flamingo mount can float or swim in water and is surprisingly fast, with a high acceleration!

However, the Mollusk Whistle can only be purchased once players have completed 25% of their Bestiary — the in-game catalog of Terraria's various creatures, including NPCs, critters, and bosses.

15 Golf Cart

Plows Through Onlookers In Vibrant Fashion

The Golf Cart Keys can be purchased from the Golfer NPC for 50 Gold. It has two prerequisites to be fulfilled before players can get their hands on these keys: Skeletron needs to be defeated, and players must have achieved a golf score of at least 2,000.

When driving, this mount deals summon damage to enemies when at full speed. It can also be a handy light source as it emits a cone of light in the direction the player is facing.

14 Slime

Malleable Mobility

The Slimy Saddle sounds rather disgusting but it's crucial for summoning this amusing mount. The item is loosed at a 25% drop rate by the King Slime, the boss of the Slime Rain event, and is needed to summon the Slime mount.

13 Lilith's Necklace (Wolf)

Become The Mount With This Magic Necklace

This Hardmode mount is especially unique in that it's actually a summoning item which transforms the player into the mount, rather than simply having them ride one. Specifically, this magical piece of jewelry turns them into a swift wolf. Regarding the connection to Lilith and the wolf — this daughter of Redigit and Cenx was apparently quite fond of the animal; hence the jewel turning players into a wolf.

Running around as a wolf can be exhilarating, and very handy when traversing the endless 2D lands. That's because players will be small (being only three tiles compared to, say, the Unicorn mount, which is five tiles tall) and quite agile.

Journey Mode characters will obtain this item automatically, provided they name themselves "Wolfpet" or "Wolf Pet". Otherwise, the magic necklace can be obtained by slaying wolves. Specifically, they have only a 4% chance to drop the necklace, so players should prepare to go hunting for awhile.

12 Rudolph

A Fun And Festive Way To Get Around

Christmas can be all year round with this festive mount! Rudolph, summonable with the Reindeer Bells, is obtained from the Frost Moon event. It is a rare drop from the Ice Queen, one of the mini-bosses that spawn.

This iconic reindeer cancels any fall damage when mounted and has fast acceleration and flight (61), allowing players to zoom across the skies in no time!

11 Witch's Broom

Take To The Skies Indefinitely

The Witch's Broom is perfect for Halloween fans! It is dropped by the Mourning Wood during the Pumpkin Moon event It can fly infinitely and has a smaller hitbox, allowing players to squeeze their way through smaller spaces without dismounting. It boasts a particularly fast diagonal speed of 62. It's not infallible, however, as it can't descend through certain platorms featured.

The Witch's Broom is limited to Expert-Only mode. For players who want the extra challenge, there is also a Master Mode for Terraria!

10 Scutlix

A Laser-Firing Beast

Scutlix is the perfect mount for any sci-fi fans out there. It is summonable with the Brain Scrambler item, dropped by a Scutlix Gunner with a 1% chance. Scutlix Gunners appear during the Hardmode Martian Madness invasion event, which is triggered by players being detected by an Alien probe in the Space layer of their world.

The Scutlix mount automatically fires lasers at enemies and has impressively swift movement speeds.
