Although he originates from the land of Dahnan, players first encounter Law in Tales of Arise as a Renan policeman in the city of Cyslodia. After a brief confrontation, Law develops undying respect for Alphen and agrees to join him on his quest.
Of the 6 party members available in Tales Of Arise, Law is perhaps one of the most difficult to master. Being a martial artist, this character needs to get up close to enemies in order to attack, and his innate perk will only activate if he can avoid being hit. However, if players choose the right skills from his 18 available titles, Law can unleash some of the most deadly artes in the game. Here's a ranking of those titles, from worst to best.
18 Friend To Animals
Despite his tough outer exterior, Law has a soft spot for all animals. If players raise all five types of animals at the Ranch, they will unlock the title Friend To Animals. The free skill for this panel grants Law more combat points if he completes a battle in an awakened state.
While this can help to level up faster, it requires players to master Law's difficult innate perk, where he becomes more powerful and "awakened" the longer he goes without taking damage. The other skills in this title are either too situational, such as increased defense and elemental defense near death, or too expensive to make them worthwhile.
17 High School Heartthrob
While the School Life Costume Pack does provide hilarious costumes where all of the characters relive their school days, the title unlocked by downloading it doesn't have the best skills. This panel provides a free arte called Flashing Savage Boar, which allows Law to kick an enemy into the air and slam them back into the ground with a lightning bolt.
There are two other skills that increase Law's boost gauge and weak point damage, both of which have two tiers for players to purchase. The skills from this title are relatively cheap, and it may be worth buying them all for the +50 attack completion bonus alone.
16 Growing Boy
As players progress through Tales Of Arise, they can find up to 38 different recipes that will allow their party members to cook meals that will provide temporary stat buffs when eaten. If Law cooks seven meals, he will unlock the Growing Boy title and the free skill Recover, which allows players to use the evade button to avoid being knocked prone by heavy attacks.
This panel offers the Fang Bolero arte for 440 SP, as well as skills to improve Law's boost strike damage and Counterattack damage. Players can also boost Law's attack and elemental attack when near death. However, such skills are very situational, and it is often better to spend SP on more consistent buffs and abilities. It is only recommended to complete this title if players desperately need the +20 Elemental defense completion bonus.
15 Noisy Ninja
Law is a skilled martial artist, capable of defeating most opponents with naught but his own two fists. However, as the Noisy Ninja title suggests, he is far from subtle, with many of his loud remarks being blunt and straight to the point.
This skill panel is unlocked as soon as players install the Warring States Costume Pack. Upon doing so they will gain the free arte Dark Wind, which will summon a whirlwind that sweeps enemies off their feet. The other two skills offered by this title are Over Limit extension and easier party Over Limit, both of which have two tiers that players will have to purchase to unlock the +50 attack completion bonus.
14 Serious Diver Boy
If the description for this title is to be believed, Law is a strong swimmer as well as a formidable fighter. The Serious Diver Boy panel is unlocked by downloading the Beach Time Costume Pack and offers the free arte Serpent Knuckle.
Unlike the other DLC titles, this panel has five different skills, each of which is actually quite useful. These include easier perfect evades, KO prevention, and increased mid-air damage. If players choose to buy everything this title has to offer, they will earn a hefty completion bonus of +50 penetration, making it easier for Law to fight armored enemies.
13 Caretaker
At one point in the story, Law becomes the temporary owner and manager of a Ranch, where all of the animals quickly become attached to the stern ex-policeman. Completing the side quest Pariah Ranch will unlock the Caretaker title, and a free skill that allows the player to trigger counter-edge by pressing a skill button upon defeating an enemy.
This panel contains many skills that are useful and cheap, including Mid Air Evasion for 230 SP and faster AG recovery for only 960 SP. Law can also increase his Boost Gauge upon downing an enemy, which he will do often with his high penetration attacks, and gain more combat points upon winning a battle in an awakened state. Although the +10 defense completion bonus isn't that good, it's still worth buying all the skills in this title.
12 Snake Eye Turncoat
This title is unlocked after Law separates himself from the Snake Eye group upon completing the main quest Battle Atop The Tower. According to the description for this panel, Law only joined this group in the first place to cover his own personal regrets and pain. Unlocking this title provides the Counter Edge ability, allowing players to trigger an immediate attack after performing a perfect evade. Since Law's up-close fighting style requires the player to evade often, this ability will generate a few more attacks in each battle.
All the skills in this title are cheap, thus it is worth buying all of them. Not only will the player gain more AG from critical hits and defeating enemies, but they can also gain the Eagle Dive arte, which causes Law to carry out a rapid succession of powerful diving kicks. The completion bonus for this panel is a +10 boost to penetration.
11 Prince Of Iron Fists
There are 20 different sets of gauntlets and bracers that Law can equip to enhance his fists of fury. Law's attacks, especially his boost attacks, have some of the highest penetration in the game, making them essential for dealing with heavily armored enemies.
The Prince Of Iron Fists titles can be unlocked by performing 3 boost attacks. To do this, players must wait until Law's Icon has a golden glow, meaning his boost attack can be triggered by pressing his action button. The skills for this perk are worth getting even without the +20 attack completion bonus. They massively improve Law's boost gauge and increase his AG upon defeating an enemy. The arte Dragon shot isn't the strongest, but it's worth the 400 SP, and the free skill is great for increasing the chance of entering Over Limit while awakened.
10 Space Champion
Since his attacks are some of the most powerful in the game, Law will require players to watch their remaining AG carefully. Skills that boost AG or improve Over Limit are some of the most important to prioritize, as they will enable players to use more frequent and devastating artes during combat.
Space Champion is unlocked upon completing the side quest, An Ambition Fulfilled, and offers a free boost to Law's maximum AG. Mirage Blitz is a great arte that only costs 760 SP, and all of the other skills in this panel either give Law more AG or increase the chance of him entering Over Limit. Buying all of the skills will grant a +50 elemental attack completion bonus.
9 Silver Wolf Reawakened
Law is a firm believer that there are few things better to improve one's mood than a good honest punch-up. Demonstrating this is the fact that completing the side quest Refreshing Roughhousing unlocks the title, Silver Wolf Reawakened.
This panel gives players a free mid-air jump, essentially allowing them to double jump. This can help alleviate Law's weakness against flying targets. Whirlwind Snap is a great arte for the early game that only costs 280 SP. Other notable skills include two abilities that restore AG upon either performing a perfect evade, or delivering a critical hit.
