Tales of Arise is the latest entry in the long-running ‘Tales of’ franchise, which has included games like Tales of Vesperia, Tales of Berseria, and Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology in the past. While not as popular as Final Fantasy, the series has a strong JRPG foundation with many fans.

Tales of Arise took that to new levels by maintaining its old roots but bolstering it with major changes. As we wrote in our Tales of Arise review, it is a game “where story, combat, and various features come together to deliver a high-quality, highly-detailed JRPG. All of that makes it not just one of the best JRPGs on the market today, but one of the best games hands-down. Now, those who have yet to take the dive into Tales of Arise’ s worlds of Dahna and Rena are able to do so at a discount for Black Friday.

It’s somewhat surprising Tales of Arise is on sale, at least for as steep as it is. The game was just released in September, meaning it’s not too old, and it takes full advantage of the PS5 and Xbox Series X hardware—if being cross-gen. As such, those who want to try the game out but didn’t want to spend full retail value have no reason not to dive in now. It’s not likely to get any cheaper any time soon.

Off its base price point of $60, several retailers have it priced at $20-30 off. With Black Friday fast approaching, fans should jump on these deals as quickly as they can. Some are clear on when they end, but others may be while supplies last. Luckily, if one store doesn’t work out, these deals are available at Amazon, Target, and Best Buy.

Not that game length and price have any real common ground, but it’s worth mentioning that Tales of Arise is a gift that will keep on giving. The average time for how long it takes to beat Tales of Arise is a solid 40 hours, though some are likely to beat it a little faster depending on how they approach the game world. Completing everything, on the other hand, takes on average about 72.5 hours, but that can easily creep into the 100-hour area.

JRPGs are often known for their length, and Tales of Arise is no exception. It’s actually shorter than many other Tales Of games, thanks to its focus on tight storytelling. In short, it’s a well-developed epic well worth this price point.

Tales of Arise is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
