Broken Strings Quest Guide in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon
You can access the Broken Strings quest as soon as you reach Cuanacht after the Shadows of the Horns quest. To trigger this side quest, you'll first have to go to the Harpist's Tomb, located atop the mountain near the main gate of the region. The exact location is called The Mourning Harpist and is found just northwest of the Cuanacht Region fast travel point.
Inside the tomb, you'll find two memorial shrines with writings. These shrines tell the story of two sisters and provide clues on how to access the paths on either side of the chamber. The main thing you'll need to know here is that the path on the left becomes accessible during the day, while the path on the right opens at night.
You can start the quest by speaking with either of the two sisters, Aine or Aideen. It doesn't matter who you talk to first, but you'll need to speak to both eventually to complete the quest.
Taking the Left Path
If you arrive during the daytime, the left route will be open. Head through it and take the first left down the stairs. Continue forward until you meet the ghost of Aine.
Talk with her and choose any of the dialogue options. Two enemies will spawn in the room: Pride and Greed. Take them down and talk to her again. Run through her dialogue to get the Aine's Ashes quest item. This is where the quest officially begins.
There's a chest in front of a statue of a girl playing the harp in a chamber containing an Origin Stone, Starborn Egg (Weapon Relic), and a Health and a Mana Potion.
Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon - How to Mine
Mining is an important part of upgrading your weapon in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon, but you'll need a Pickaxe to get started.
Taking the Right Path
With Aine's Ashes in your inventory, exit the tomb. Set up a camp and rest until nighttime. Go inside the tomb once again, and the right-side passage will open. Like before, follow the path until you meet Aideen. Speak with her, then prepare to fight Envy and Wrath. After defeating them, talk to Aideen again and go through her dialogue to collect her ashes.
Burying Aine and Aideen's Ashes
With both sets of ashes in your possession, the final part of the quest takes you to an All-Mother Statue in the northeastern part of the map, east of Lord Yvain's Mansion. You'll have to defeat some Red Death Infected enemies to reach the location. At the All-Mother Statue, you'll encounter a boss named Sir Vaelin.
Once you defeat him, head toward the large tree to the east and interact with it to bury the twins' ashes and complete the quest.
