Weapon Relics and Armor Relics can be found fairly early on in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon. These items can be used to add extra effects to your weapons and armor in order to make them more powerful. However, new players will find themselves confused as the game doesn’t explain how, exactly, to use Relics to make gear stronger.
The exact process of attaching Relics to equipment is easily missed. Because of how Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon resembles Skyrim in player freedom, you can go an entire playthrough without ever having to actually use a weapon or armor Relic and still complete the game.

Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon offers players 170+ skills divided into 22 skill trees, which makes choosing hard, especially at the start.
How to Use Weapon and Armor Relics in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon
Relics can be used to add unique effects to weapons and armor in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon. If a weapon or armor has an empty Relic Slot, the corresponding Relic can be attached to it at a Grindstone (crafting station).
In most cases, however, weapons and armor do not come with any Relic Slots at all. Luckily, players can add up to two Relic Slots to any armor or weapon at a Grindstone for 500 gold each. Here’s how.
-
Interact with a Grindstone. One can be found at Osbryht’s Blacksmith’s shop in Shadow of the Horn keep.
- Select ‘Attach Relic.’
-
Choose the piece of equipment you want to add a Relic to.
-
If it doesn’t have a Relic Slot, select the plus icon in the center of the screen and press ‘Add Relic Slot.’ This will consume 500 Gold and create an empty socket.
- If there is a Relic Slot available, click on it and choose the Relic you want to attach.
Grindstones are also where you craft, upgrade, and reduce the carry weight of armor and weapons.
Among armor pieces, only helmets, cuirasses, greaves, gauntlets, boots, and capes can have Relic Slots; rings and amulets cannot. Every weapon can have Relic Slots, including Bows. Spells do not have Relic Slots.
Where to Find Relics in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon
Weapon and Armor Relics are rare loot obtained from chests, powerful bosses, or quest rewards. The easiest way to look for them is to hunt down powerful bosses and complete side quests. The bounty board in Shadow of the Horn offers the opportunity to take down fearsome bandit leaders in exchange for a reward. Additionally, keep an eye out for buried chests you can excavate using a shovel. These often contain very useful loot, with Relics being one of the possibilities.
Relics have weight, which means they contribute to your overall carry weight. Make sure to deposit them in your stash every opportunity you get because all stash items are accessible directly from the Grindstone; there is no reason to keep Relics in your inventory.
