The Seamstress has the distinction of being the most direct way to improve the player's abilities during every run in Tainted Grail: Conquest. She's the most important NPC for every character because her improvements do not require payment to be activated; they're permanent and immediately in effect.
A fully upgraded Seamstress is hey to beating Tainted Grail: Conquest on higher difficulties. But getting there is easier said than done. What to prioritize and how to max out her currency of choice are all important pieces of knowledge before diving in blindly.
Farming Up Blood
Farming up currencies in the game is part of what makes Tainted Grail: Conquest so replayable. The Seamstress requires blood as a currency and the simple answer is that players get more blood every time they defeat an opponent. More dead opponents give more blood.
There are some basic best practices to follow. After beating the game, focus on clearing out all three sectors, even when enemies are guarding useless NPCs. The blood from useless fights adds up. After being able to clear the map, bump up the difficulty for extra blood.
No Need To Remove Curses
Many players will complete the game having never even seen the curse. That's because getting the curse requires doing something so obviously dastardly that most players weel very well warned that it's a bad move. This happens when robbing the shrine, which will give them wealth but curse them by removing the ability to heal.
The answer is simple: Don't rob the shrine, it's not worth the wealth gained for such a card. Better character classes can compensate for such a limitation, but it's unwise to risk it messing up a good run. By not robbing the shrine, players will never need this upgrade, so save the money and wealth for something else.
Random Passive Skills Are Best Saved For Higher Difficulties
By using the lost soul and getting upgrades from the Master-At-Arms, players are in a good position to push the higher ranks, but before then, they should save their cash. Remember that every one-hundred wealth is converted to golden tokens to be used at the scientist. Save the money as much as possible.
Still, at the highest difficulties, it's nearly impossible to beat the game without every possible advantage. An extra four passive skills will cost a lot, but these can be the skills needed to win. Early on, this is excessive but those who push the leaderboards will have bought out all four for their runs.
Best Ability Upgrades
- Start each run with +5 armor
- Increase your wealth by 10%
Because the Seamstress confers her benefit to every class, the most important benefits are the ones that are the most generic. Generally speaking, armor is considered the best stat in the game because of how it reduces enemy attacks. Enemies will hit for hundreds of health without it.
Wealth is a close second because wealth can get turned into anything the player needs. Need a few runes? Buy them! Need extra healing potions as a Blood Mage? Buy them! Don't need to spend a thing? Save the money and turn them into golden tokens after beating the run.
Worst Ability Upgrade
At first glance, extra experience might feel like an incredible advantage. Getting more passives and cards quickly will appeal to newer players who value getting as high a level as possible since they can't clear the sections of the map yet.
However, for those who have beaten the game, the cap of levels at twenty limits the usefulness of experience. Even with no points in this at all, they'll be twenty well before they have to take on the game's hardest bosses after clearing the rest of the maps out, so hold off on this upgrade until everything else is topped off.
