Diablo is a dark fantasy action RPG first developed by Blizzard North and then Blizzard Entertainment starting with Diablo 3. Set in the world of Sanctuary, players can pick from a variety of classes like a Necromancer, Amazon, Sorceress, and Barbarian, as they battle through various demons and monsters to square off against the series' overarching antagonist, Diablo. Players gain XP and level up where they can improve their character with new abilities, while also equipping better gear and weapons. The series popularity has also resulted in comics and books to be published to further flesh out this world.
