2K Sports is a label from Studio 2K, a subsidiary of Take-Two Interactive. Founded in January of 2005, and created as the sister label to 2K Games, 2K Sports was responsible for the creation and production of a variety of sports-based titles, with franchises like NBA 2K, College Hoops 2K, NHL 2K, and MLB 2K taking the helm as the star series for the label itself. Although some of these franchises are since defunct, 2K Sports still helps create popular series such as NBA 2K, PGA Tour 2K, and WWE 2K, which usually see an annual release in their lineup for the appropriate year. 2K currently has a specialized sports development studio (founded in October 2023), known as the 2K Sports Lab, which is housed in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
