Hot on the heels of announcing Tekken 8 as well as Tales of Symphonia coming to Nintendo Switch, Bandai Namco revealed a new, sci-fi action game called Synduality during PlayStation's September State of Play presentation. The new title from Bandai Namco will be released on next-gen consoles and PC sometime in 2023. The game is set in a dystopian world in the year 2222 where humanity and artificial intelligence must co-exist and cooperate in order to survive.

The trailer begins with a quote by sci-fi writer Arthur C. Clarke that reads, "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic," which shines through as the rest of the trailer plays. The trailer shows off gameplay in the Cradle Coffin as the player's AI Magus friend hovers around as well, making Synduality look like Death Stranding and Nier Automata at the same time. The technology being used in the game by the player is fascinating, and gamers are sure to be excited to see what more it is capable of as more info about the game comes out.

The first enemies that are shown in the trailer (around the 0:47 mark) are reminiscent of the Viperwolves on Pandora from Avatar and seem to be the corrupted fauna of the land. Then, the trailer moves on to show combat with other mechanical enemies as well. Near the end, Synduality's multiplayer game mode is showcased as several people face off against large, boss-like enemies. Whether the game supports both local and online multiplayer support is not clear as of yet, but online multiplayer, at least, will be available when the game launches next year.

The game's multiplayer mode will require a PlayStation Plus subscription on PS5. Details for how the multiplayer will work or whether there will be cross-platform play are yet to be revealed. As the game is not going to release until 2023, there is plenty of time for Bandai Namco to release more information about the game.

Synduality will release in 2023 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
