Restoring water and finding collectibles are not the only things players can do in Sword of the Sea. There are also Trick Attack Areas where one must beat the high score to get currency and animals that are rideable. Though most of these are optional, they still add more to the game itself and make the whole journey much more refreshing and enjoyable. Most of the mountable animals in Sword of the Sea have a trophy or achievement tied to them, and below you can find their locations.

All Ridable Animals and Where to Find Them in Sword of the Sea
Orca
- Veiled Sea
When you reach the golden door with a chain on either side, head to the left chain first and make your way to the lanterns, which will make jellyfish appear. Activate the water point here, and this will cause large Orcas to start swimming around the beautiful area. You can get on top of any one of them, and once you drop, you will get the "Orca Rider" trophy or achievement.
Archelon
- Lost Grotto
After activating the four switches, you will arrive at another area where you must restore the water at the top of the building. Once you have done this, the Archelons, large water turtles, will appear. Ride them to get the second trophy.
Humpback Whale
- Shadow Tundra
Proceed through the area until you come across the large statue. Restore the water around it by activating the water point, and this will make the Humpback Whale appear. You can ride them for the third achievement.
Elasmosaur
- Shadow Tundra
After exiting the pillar room and reaching the area where you can use the Boost if you gather the Wisp from the pillars, go to the right side of the area to find an entrance leading to a small enclosed space. Once you are inside the enclosed area, restore the water here, and this will cause Elasmosaur to appear, which you can then mount.
To reach this area, you might have to go up the mountain, then boost down, and make use of the jellyfish jump pad to propel yourself forward.
Sperm Whale
- Sacred River
After activating the water point, which causes the yellow kelp to rise up, some large Sperm Whales will also appear, and you can mount these for the "Sperm Whale Rider" achievement.
Whale Shark
- Sacred River
Progress through the third-to-last level until you reach two small ships with a chain attached to them, which are tied to a large ship. Interact with the buttons to make the ship rise up and restore water to the area, which will cause the Whale Shark to appear. Mount them and jump off to get the next trophy.
Blue Whale
- Sacred River
The final mountable animal spawns on top of the floating island, which is also part of the main story. Make your way there by making use of the Water Glide ability. Once on top, restore the water around the area to make the Blue Whales appear for the final achievement.
