Nintendo fans think they have figured out five new Nintendo 64 games coming to the Nintendo Switch Online subscription service in the near future. Nintendo Switch Online is the Nintendo equivalent to PS Plus or Xbox Game Pass. It gives subscribers access to online multiplayer features in various games, and it also comes with a library of retro games from past Nintendo consoles. The standard Nintendo Switch Online service gives players plenty of bang for their buck, but those that want even more will want to sign up for the Expansion Pack tier.
The Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack tier gives players even more classic games to play, with titles available from the Genesis, GBA, N64, and, for Switch 2 owners only, the GameCube. Nintendo updates the Switch Online library on a regular basis, ensuring that there is always something new to play. And while Nintendo hasn't revealed much of its future plans when it comes to more Nintendo 64 games coming to Switch Online, it may have accidentally let the cat out of the bag.
Nintendo Shows Off New N64 Switch Online Features
Nintendo unveils the upcoming features for the Nintendo 64 on the Nintendo Switch Online, which includes a change that gamers have wanted for years.
Recently, Nintendo fans came to the conclusion that a Nintendo 64 trailer from a couple of months back featured the box art for Super Smash Bros. Blurred in the background, suggesting that the classic fighting/party game would be coming to the service at some point down the line. Now fans have done even more digging, and have potentially found four more Nintendo 64 games that may have inadvertently been teased by Nintendo. The games in question are Donkey Kong 64, Forsaken 64, Glover, and Rayman 2, bringing the grand total to five potential upcoming Nintendo 64 games for Switch Online. Evidence of these games was shared on Twitter by user ImakuniVT, with fellow user Betonoguau creating a helpful video that shows the box arts match up with the rumored games, as spotted by Nintendo Life.

The Nintendo 64 Switch Online game additions have slowed down considerably, with only two added in 2025 so far. Ridge Racer 64 was added to the Expansion Pack tier of Nintendo Switch Online back in January, while Killer Instinct Gold made its debut in May. Nintendo Switch Online first debuted in September 2018, meaning that a lot of subscriptions are likely coming up for renewal. It would make sense for Nintendo to announce a bunch more classic games for Switch Online soon to not only keep current subscribers signed up, but also convince those that have yet to do so to take the plunge.
In the meantime, fans shouldn't get their hopes up that these Nintendo 64 games are coming to Switch Online. It could be a coincidence that the box arts seem to match, or it could be that Nintendo used random N64 games in the trailer. Whatever the case may be, a Nintendo Direct is rumored to be happening at some point within the next couple of months, and so perhaps fans will learn more about the company's future plans for Nintendo Switch Online soon.
