One of the standout new features of the Nintendo Switch 2 is the GameShare mode for multiplayer games. This feature serves as an evolution of the Street Pass option found on the Nintendo 3DS. It allows one owner of a GameShare-compatible game to share that game with friends, even if they don’t own it themselves.
It’s a great way to involve other players in your gaming experience. Notably, this new feature on Switch 2 works when sharing locally from the Switch 2 to the original Switch, Switch Lite, and Switch OLED, but not the other way around. It's an exciting mode that doesn't leave original Switch owners out in the cold and can be performed from within the GameShare-supported game.
List Of GameShare Games On The Switch 2
Before using GameShare, ensure your game has the feature. Here is a list of some games that are compatible with GameShare:
- 51 Worldwide Games
- Big Brain Academy: Brain vs. Brain
- Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker
- Fast Fusion
- Split Fiction
- Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury
- Super Mario Odyssey
- Super Mario Party Jamboree - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV
More games will be added over time, as new titles are launched and through free updates for existing games.
How To Use GameShare On The Switch 2
- Both users should be connected to the internet.
- On the Switch device where you want to receive the game, ensure you select GameShare on the Home screen.
- On the Switch device you want to share the game from, launch the game's multiplayer mode and select the "GameShare + Local Play" option if you wish to play with someone nearby.
- On the receiving Switch device, select "Join GameShare" to start searching for GameShare sessions until it connects to the shared game.
- When it detects the other player on the main Switch 2, look for the "Everyone's Here" notification and select Start.
- Press the A button on the receiving device to join the multiplayer game.
- Alternatively, select "GameShare + GameChat" if you intend to share your game with a friend online.
Unfortunately, the GameShare + GameChat features are only available for Nintendo Switch 2 owners.
That's all you need to share selected Switch and Switch 2 games with friends using the new GameShare feature, whether online or locally with family.
