When players first boot up Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, they may be surprised to see that they only have eight characters to choose from. They will soon be unlocking characters just by playing various game modes, but there are three characters that they can add to their roster of playable fighters right off the bat in the form of the Mii Fighters.
In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, there are three different Mii Fighters to choose from: Brawler, Gunner, and Swordfighter. To unlock the Mii Fighters in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, players have to actually create them themselves, as opposed to encountering them after a Vs match or in the World of Light like other characters in the ambitious crossover fighting game.
To create Mii Fighters in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, players need to click on the Games & More icon, and then select Mii Fighters. From there, players can click Create and choose which Mii they want to use for a base for their Mii Fighter. Players then customize the Mii Fighter however they wish, including what clothes they're wearing and whether they want them to be a Brawler, Gunner, or Swordfighter. When the Mii Fighter customization process is done, just hit "Save" and then the Mii Fighters should appear in the character select screen before battles.
Mii Fighters may not be the most popular Super Smash Bros. Franchise characters, but players will want to make one of each class if they want to complete their roster. After all, the Mii Fighters are still considered part of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's lineup, and some players may overlook them since they aren't unlocked using the same methods as other characters in the game.
Other characters in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate are fairly easy to unlock, though sometimes getting them all can be a time-consuming process. Unlocking Mewtwo in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is particularly time-consuming, and can take over 20 hours if players try to unlock the legendary psychic-type Pokemon in the World of Light story mode instead of doing the Vs mode trick.
The Vs mode trick, for the uninitiated, is where Super Smash Bros. Ultimate players close out of their game completely, restart it, and then play through another round of Vs. Every time they do this, they should be approached by a new challenger, making this one of the fastest ways to unlock all the characters in the game.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is out now, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
