The 2.0 update for Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble will introduce a new first-person mode when it releases on November 26. Along with this stomach-churning addition, fans of Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble can also expect two more guest downloadable characters, a new costume, and some updates to Battle Mode and Adventure Mode.
Released in June for the Nintendo Switch, Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble is the newest entry in the Super Monkey Ball series, following the 2021 title Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania. As in previous games, players must navigate across suspended platforms to reach a goal and clear the level, with Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble including 200 new stages and a number of downloadable characters to keep things fresh. Boasting character customization and consistent updates, Banana Rumble has been a hit with players, and a new patch is set to introduce even more fun ways to play.
Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble: How Long to Beat?
Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble's main story is a little on the short side, but there's plenty of additional content on offer to make up for this.
Developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and publisher Sega have announced that the version 2.0 Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble update will be released on November 26. The new 'Monkey See' mode will allow players to view the game from inside the ball they control, offering a complete first-person experience. Additionally, more new content is coming for Adventure Mode, including Super Speed, which will make players' balls roll faster, as well as more difficult courses in Ultimate EX stages. Those wanting to reduce their overall time in Time Attack mode will now be able to select a Banana Bonus option, in which collecting bananas will bump down the clock. A quick retry feature will also be implemented, making it possible to restart a stage without pausing the game.
Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble Will Add a First-Person Mode in Version 2.0
Two new guest downloadable characters will also be making their debut in version 2.0. Godzilla, the King of the Monsters, and virtual singer Hatsune Miku will both be available for purchase starting on November 26. Fittingly, playing as Godzilla will see bananas replaced by trains, whereas selecting Miku will dot each course with musical notes. Fans of VTubers will also have something to look forward to in the next patch, as a special "NIJISANJI UKIUKI CUP Outfit Set" will be available as a free download on the Nintendo Shop. The set comes with a t-shirt, a specially designed monkey ball, and a costume inspired by Nijisanji talent Saegusa Akina.
Fans who prefer to play Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble with friends can also enjoy Super Punchy Brawl, a new multiplayer game being added to the game's Battle Mode. Players will need to seek victory by knocking their opponents off the map using an oversized boxing glove. Several smaller bits of content will be added in version 2.0, including a character selection randomizer, the option to carry over save data from the demo, and more. While more characters and content are sure to make their way to the popular Sega title in the future, fans will have to wait and see what Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble will bring to the table next.
