Sun Haven is all about collecting things for recipes, crafting, smelting, gifting, and more. Players of this farming and life simulation game will need loads of different types of metals, plants, rocks, money, and foods to make everything there is, and this includes collecting tons of different kinds of fish.

However, some players might not know how to get started since it is not explicitly mentioned in this indie game. In order to get trawling, players will first need to find a fishing rod and a great spot to catch some watery animals.

How to Get a Fishing Rod in Sun Haven

Sun-Haven-How-To-Fish-003

One of the first things that new Sun Haven players learn is how to access the map. By pressing the M key, players can see everything that makes up the town of Sun Haven for themselves. On the right-hand side of the screen, there is a list of all the stores, homes, and other locations in town.

One of these is Peter's Fishing Store. It is located southeast of the player's farm, and it carries everything players need to play the fishing mini-game in Sun Haven.

Head down to the fishing store with 500 coins to get the basic fishing rod and start catching if Peter hasn't gifted them a rod yet. There are three total different rods that players can buy, along with three levels of fishing net permits. The fishing rods are used to fish manually, while the permits allow players to have nets to catch fish automatically.

The higher the permit number, the more fishing nets players of this farming simulation can leave out in the water to catch fish.

How to Fish in Sun Haven

To fish, head over to a source of water and look for shadows of fish swimming in the water. Once one is spotted, select the fishing rod icon on the quick bar and press and hold left-click; release to throw a line.

Similar to the fishing mini-game in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, fish will tap the fishing hook a couple of times before biting; players can tell that the fish has bit when the bobber goes underwater.

Left click as soon as the fish bites, then a slider game will appear. Left click when the bar is in the green to catch the fish.
