It's been a long and tough road for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. First revealed in August 2020, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League's initial reception was a little lukewarm. While it was great to see Rocksteady back, it wasn't the project that many fans hoped the studio had been working, and the unclear messaging of the type of game it was during its initial reveal definitely didn't help things. This confusion only became more apparent over the next few years, which only served to make Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League's full reveal back in February 2023 an absolute disaster, with Rocksteady confirming it was a looter-shooter with live-service elements.

But after a lengthy delay, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League reared its head towards the end of last year, and over the last few months, Rocksteady has been desperately trying to show more of its game while remaining as transparent as possible, which is certainly commendable. It's now less than a month until Suicide Squad releases, and while many fans will still be on the fence, some have been convinced to jump right in on day one, and those fans are going to need to know a little bit more about the game's different weapon manufacturers and upgrade systems.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Weapons Breakdown

As mentioned up top, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is primarily a looter-shooter in a similar vein to games like Borderlands and Destiny 2. This means that while players make their way through Suicide Squad's story and side content, they'll be gathering various crafting materials and shiny new weapons, each coming with their own rarity level and unique set of stats.

On top of weapon types like assault rifles, sniper rifles, pistols, SMGs, and miniguns, players will also have access to four different classes of weapon, each dictated by a weapons manufacturer. Once players have found a weapon belonging to any of the four manufacturers, they can then head to Penguin, where specific weapons can be crafted for each manufacturer.

Every Weapon Manufacturer in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

There are a total of four weapon manufacturers currently confirmed for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, each of which has its own unique set of advantages and disadvantages, just like those in the Borderlands franchise. AmerTek is described as a manufacturer that specializes in "improvised" weapons, giving guns fast fire rates and a high ammo capacity, but also giving them high recoil. On the opposite end of the spectrum, LexCorp offers a more "scientific" approach to weaponry, with its guns offering controlled recoil and spread patterns, but coming with a lower fire rate. Star Labs and GCPD also have their own set of weapons, though Rocksteady hasn't revealed much about these yet.

Toyman's Mods

During the course of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, Task Force X's commander Amanda Waller will continue to recruit other villains to aid the Squad. One of these villains is the D-lister Toyman, an inventor that provides the Squad with various mods for their melee weapons, guns, and grenades. Toyman will also give players mods for their various character traversal methods, though it's currently unclear what these will do in-game.

Poison Ivy's Afflictions

Another villain recruited to Task Force X during the course of the game is Poison Ivy, who now appears to be a 10-year-old child, having been rebirthed after dying in the events of Batman: Arkham Knight. In Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, Ivy will give the team a range of elemental modifiers to attach to their weapons, each one based on a different DC villain. The two currently confirmed are Diablo Blaze and Deep Freeze, with the former setting enemies alight and the latter freezing them in place. These "Afflictions" also come with a downside, such as the inability to harvest shields or ammo from enemies downed by a specific modifier.

Supervillain Overhauls

At some point during Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, players will unlock the ability to craft Supervillain weapons, a rare modifier that completely overhauls a weapon's stats and abilities. For instance, Bane's Rage ability causes enemies to take increased damage, while Black Mask's Bulletstorm seems to increase a weapon's rate of fire.
