Being a God in the original Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z wasn't a big deal. Kami was outclassed by every Z-Fighter in the Saiyan Saga, and the Supreme Kai was quickly reduced to a joke in the Majin Buu arc. Dragon Ball Super completely changed what it meant to be a God with Beerus' introduction in Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods.

Gods and Angels are simply on another level when it comes to Power Level, making them far and away the strongest beings in Dragon Ball. As absurdly powerful as Dragon Ball Super's Gods are, an impressive few characters have grown strong enough to even kill a God of Destruction (just not necessarily Beerus). One Dragon Ball Super character even managed to kill every God in his universe except for Zeno.
9 Fused Zamasu Killed Every God in Future Trunks' Timeline
Even in death, Zamasu is the only Dragon Ball villain who wins in every sense of the word. Zamasu's Zero Mortal Plan requires the death of every human in existence – which he achieves when he systematically wipes out his multiverse's Supreme Kais, killing each God of Destruction, and allowing him to pick off every human one by one. In the Dragon Ball Super manga, it's even implied that Trunks and Mai are the only humans left on Earth.
In both the Dragon Ball Super manga and anime, Zamasu ends up infecting Future Trunks' universe to the point where Zeno has to step in and erase everything from existence just to stop him. Fused Zamasu has the distinction of being one of the only Dragon Ball characters to succeed in killing a God, let alone multiple (although he does go about it through nefarious means).
8 Jiren is Even Stronger Than His Universe's God of Destruction
Jiren is outright stated to be stronger than Universe 11's God of Destruction, Belmod, in the Universe Survival Saga. Not only that, Jiren was never defeated in a proper fight in the Tournament of Power. He overwhelmed everybody he fought – including Ultra Instinct Goku – and was only eliminated because Goku and Frieza sacrificed themselves to knock Jiren out of bounds, while Android 17 was still in the arena.
Dragon Ball Super Manga Gets Disappointing Update 1 Full Year Since Hiatus
The April 2026 issue of V-Jump has revealed that Toyotarou's Dragon Ball Super manga is still on hiatus, with no return date in sight.
Jiren hasn't been seen since the Tournament of Power ended, but Goku still sees him as a benchmark for power in Dragon Ball Super: Broly. At his strongest, Jiren could absolutely kill a God of Destruction. As a member of the Pride Troopers, though, Jiren never would. Jiren is Universe 11's greatest hero and would do everything he could to protect his Gods.
7 Moro is the Only Villain Who Can Use Ultra Instinct
The main villain of the upcoming Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol anime, Planet Eater Moro starts out slightly weaker than Goku and Vegeta, but his ability to absorb the energy of planets and people ultimately makes him just as strong as Mastered Ultra Instinct Goku. Moro later gains the ability to absorb powers, as well, giving him access to Angelic techniques, including Ultra Instinct.
Unfortunately for Moro, Goku had just finished mastering Ultra Instinct by training with Merus, so he's able to overpower and defeat Moro – until Moro fuses himself with Planet Earth. It's only thanks to Vegeta's Forced Spirit Fission and Uub's Ki that Goku lands the killing blow. If Moro kept growing stronger, he'd be able to kill every God in the multiverse.
6 Broly's Raw Power Makes Him a Potential God Killer
Broly has greater potential than any other Saiyan in Dragon Ball. In his base form and with zero formal training, Broly was strong enough to defeat Super Saiyan Goku and Vegeta, forcing them to use Super Saiyan God. Since Broly grows stronger as he fights, he eventually even grows powerful enough to man-handle Super Saiyan God Goku.
Once he turns Super Saiyan, Broly surpasses Super Saiyan Blue Goku, Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta, and Golden Frieza. Legendary Super Saiyan Broly is so overwhelmingly strong, Goku and Vegeta are forced to fuse into Gogeta, who still has to turn Super Saiyan Blue just to beat him. Once Broly masters his rage and power, he'll be unstoppable and stronger than virtually every God in the series.
5 Goku is Already Stronger Than Most Gods
Goku may not be the strongest Z-Fighter these days, but that doesn't mean he isn't one of the most powerful warriors in the multiverse. Goku is always growing stronger, and virtually every story arc since the Tournament of Power has focused on him further developing Ultra Instinct. By Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, Goku can stack his Super Saiyan forms on top of UI and even astral project his Ki.
Dragon Ball: The 6 Strongest Immortal Characters in the Franchise, Ranked
Dragon Ball's immortal villains vary drastically when it comes to Power Levels, some being much stronger than others.
Goku may not be on Beerus' level yet, but he's almost certainly surpassed Jiren by now, meaning he's stronger than most Gods of Destruction. Goku was also able to fight off Ultra Instinct Moro without too much effort (until Moro became a literal planet, that is). Given that Beerus serves as Dragon Ball Super's power benchmark, Goku likely won't surpass him until the end of the series – but he's closer than ever.
4 Vegeta is On His Way to Becoming Universe 7's God of Destruction
After spending most of Dragon Ball living in his shadow, Vegeta finally surpassed Goku at the end of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero by defeating him in a one-on-one fight. Thanks to Ultra Ego bringing him up to speed with Goku's own Ultra Instinct, Vegeta even has a new transformation ready to level the playing field and grow stronger than ever.
In the Granolah the Survivor Saga, Vegeta starts formally training with Beerus to become a Destroyer, making him a pseudo-God of Destruction. Even before Ultra Ego and Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, Vegeta established himself as the first Dragon Ball Super character to beat a God of Destruction by beating Toppo after unlocking Super Saiyan Blue Evolution. Ultra Ego Vegeta can definitely kill a God.
3 Gohan Beast is the Strongest Z-Fighter After Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero
Gohan was the strongest unfused character at the end of Dragon Ball Z, a spot he quickly lost throughout Dragon Ball Super once he stopped training and God Ki was introduced. After unlocking his Beast form at the end of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, however, Gohan has reclaimed his role as the strongest Z-Fighter in the cast.
Gohan Beast not only defeats Mastered Ultra Instinct Goku in Dragon Ball Super Chapter 103, he wins a Super Saiyan Battle Royale against Goku, Vegeta, Broly, Goten, and Trunks. Whis even thinks Gohan has the potential to become Universe 7's God of Destruction, meaning he's firmly God-Tier and can defeat lesser Gods with ease.
2 Black Frieza is a Genuine Threat to Dragon Ball's Gods
Gohan Beast may be the strongest Z-Fighter, but Black Frieza is the single strongest mortal in Dragon Ball Super right now. At the end of the Granolah the Survivor Saga, Black Frieza kills Gas with one hit, and then knocks out Ultra Instinct Goku and Ultra Ego Vegeta with an extremely fast hit that neither Saiyan has time to react to. Frieza has never been this powerful.
Dragon Ball Super Officially Reveals the Anime’s Next Main Villain
Moro is one of the greatest & most dangerous villains in Dragon Ball Super, sporting raw power and ferocity the series hasn't seen since Cell in DBZ.
Considering just how powerful Black Frieza is right now, he absolutely could kill most of the Gods of Destruction. The jury's out on whether or not he can beat Beerus, but assuming the Black Frieza Saga ends up being Dragon Ball Super's final story arc, then Universe 7's God of Destruction is in very serious danger.
1 Gogeta is the Only Mortal Who Has the Potential to Defeat Beerus
Goku and Vegeta's rivalry is so intense, their fusion gets a special power boost whenever they fuse together. Between Vegito and Gogeta, only Gogeta has the potential to beat a God. Not because Vegito is weaker, but because the Potara can't withstand a fusion as overwhelmingly powerful as Vegito without breaking in two. By comparison, Gogeta can turn Super Saiyan Blue and break into other dimensions while fighting without defusing.
Gogeta has never gotten the chance to fight a God, but it's strongly implied in Dragon Ball Super: Broly that he's strong enough to fight Beerus, if not defeat him. Even if he can't beat Beerus himself, Gogeta is absolutely strong enough to kill most Gods in Dragon Ball Super. Even Vegito was strong enough to overpower Fused Zamasu, and that was multiple arcs ago, so Gogeta is without a doubt Dragon Ball Super's strongest God killer.
