Stranger Things Season 5 Animated Art Sees Will Being Held Under Vecna’s Control

Will Byers in season 4 of Stranger Things

As fans' imaginations run wild about what could be in store for Will Byers in Stranger Things season 5's upcoming episodes, artist thesonnyfive gives a glimpse into how they think his storyline may go with Vecna, and it's pretty terrifying. The animated artwork features Will being turned into Vecna's puppet as the cold-hearted and horrific monster stands behind him, seemingly controlling his every move. Just below Will and Vecna are the rest of the group, Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin), and Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), as well as a Demogorgon. The artist has done a great job at animating the artwork to give it a more sinister touch as well as featuring the show's theme song.

After the Stranger Things season 4 dramatic ending, Vecna was defeated but, of course, he is highly likely to return to cause even more chaos than before. The cruel creature won't be alone though, as other monsters like the Demogorgon and the Mind Flayer will make an appearance too. As fans have seen throughout Stranger Things, Will has a binding connection to the Upside Down, so season 5 could see him using this link to finally end it all and save the day. Matt Duffer revealed last year in an interview that Will's arc will "tie the whole series together," so it seems as though he might be Hawkins' only hope for peace.

Recently, Finn Wolfhard, who plays Mike Wheeler, expressed how emotional it was for him that Stranger Things had come to an end, especially since growing up on the show for ten years. "My whole childhood was there. It was sort of the ‘Toy Story 3’ moment of leaving your toys behind. It was really special," stated Wolfhard.

Although there isn't an official release date at present, Stranger Things season five will premiere on Netflix in 2025.
