Ross Duffer, one half of the Duffer Brothers showrunning duo, has just confirmed the official lengths of all remaining episodes of Stranger Things Season 5, including the runtime of Stranger Things' last ever episode. There are a total of four Stranger Things episodes left to air, with three (Volume 2) arriving on December 25 and the climactic finale (Volume 3) hitting Netflix on December 31.

Stranger Things Season 5 released its first four episodes on November 26, bringing the show back to screens after a three-year hiatus. These four episodes generally received very favorable reviews from fans and critics alike, with all Stranger Things Season 5 Volume 1 episodes currently sitting at above an 8 on IMDb, and its fourth chapter being the highest-rated episode in Stranger Things history, achieving a 9.5/10 with over 53,000 reviews.

Netflix's strategy to release the final season of Stranger Things in three parts has seemingly only bolstered fans' anticipation for the show further, with the gap between episodes giving them plenty of time to conjure up an array of fan theories on how the show could end and where beloved characters will end up once that final set of credits rolls. Ross Duffer has just added even more fuel to the fire, revealing via an Instagram post on December 22 both the official titles of each Stranger Things Season 5 Volume 2 and 3 episode and each of their runtimes. In total, there are just 5 hours and 37 minutes of Stranger Things left to air.

All three episodes of Stranger Things Season 5 Volume 2 fit right in line with what fans have come to expect from the Netflix show. Lasting just over an hour, 'Shock Jock,' 'Escape from Camazotz,' and 'The Bridge' are a tiny bit longer than most episodes in Stranger Things' first three seasons (45–60 minutes), and around the same length as most Stranger Things Season 4 episodes, which ranged from 1 hour 5 minutes all the way up to 2 hours 22 minutes. The length of these three Stranger Things episodes are also about on par with the four already released in Season 5 Volume 1, with the shortest coming in at 57 minutes and the longest lasting 1 hour 26 minutes.

While Stranger Things' last ever episode – now officially titled 'The Rightside Up' – is about double the length of the three that precede it, it isn't the longest episode in Stranger Things history. Instead, that title is claimed by Stranger Things Season 4 Chapter 9 'The Piggyback,' which has the aforementioned runtime of 2 hours 22 minutes.

While there are no official plot descriptions for any episodes of Stranger Things Season 5 Volume 2 and 3, the directors of each have been officially revealed. 'Shock Jock' has been directed by Frank Darabont, original showrunner of The Walking Dead and director of Volume 1 episode 'The Turnbow Trap.' Chapter 6, 'Escape from Camazotz,' has been directed by long-time Stranger Things executive producer and Deadpool & Wolverine director Shawn Levy. And the final two episodes of Stranger Things Season 5 have been directed by none other than Matt and Ross Duffer, the two that started it all back in 2016.
