Stranger Things is one of the most popular shows on the planet right now and will be premiering its final season in 2025. Since its inception, the series has managed to enthrall fans with epic storytelling and stunning visuals. However, the streaming platform and the makers are doing their best to keep the story for the fifth and final season under wraps. But it seems the makers have a unique and bizarre way of keeping things secret and Ryder was shocked when they took her script away because of a frustrating protocol.
Stranger Things Star Pokes Fun at the Long Wait For Season 5
Stranger Things star Caleb McLaughlin shared a hilarious photo alluding to the long wait for the series' final season.
While speaking with Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Ryder talked about her latest movie, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, and opened up about Stranger Things. During the conversation, the interviewer asked the actor what she could tell him about the upcoming season without spoiling it. Although Ryder didn't say much about what happens in Season 5, she did reveal that the makers took the script and call sheets away from actors after the day's filming and shredded them. Ryder said, "I have every script with every call sheet and I’m not used to getting it taken away from me and shredded. I sometimes won’t let them and I’m like ‘No! I’m not giving you this!’… The shredding, I can’t believe it."
It is understandable that Netflix wants to keep the storyline and plotlines under wraps, but shredding the scripts seems to be a bizarre way to do it. Ryder has always been connected to her roles and likes to keep some things as souvenirs. However, it seems she faced difficulties while shooting the Netflix series. The fifth and final edition of Stranger Things is still under production and actors are filming their respective sequences. A few weeks ago, one of the creators of the show revealed that they were halfway filming the series and praised the cast and crew for their dedication. The photo made it clear that fans would have to wait a little longer to watch the final season. The post went viral on social media and prompted Netflix to finally announce that Stranger Things season 5 will be released in 2025. As of now, no official release date has been announced.
It has already been confirmed that the final chapter of Stranger Things will be bigger and better than Season 4. The fourth edition broke several viewing records for the streaming platform and became one of the most-watched Netflix series of all time. Additionally, it received universal acclaim from the critics as well as audiences. So, it doesn't come as a shock that Netflix and the Duffer Brothers are taking their time to create something satisfying and thrilling. The actors working on the show have confirmed that the final edition will consist of supersized episodes, making fans feel like they are watching feature-length movies. It would be interesting to see if any fan-favorite characters from the previous editions will appear on the show again and if they do, how are the makers going to incorporate them into the narrative?
