Season 5 of Stranger Things created a lot of buzz with the surprising ending of Volume 1, but now, fans are awaiting the release of the final two Volumes. There's a lot of mystery around Volume 2 and Volume 3, and of course, Netflix might release a brand-new trailer any time soon to tease some big upcoming events.

At the same time, fans have been wondering what the runtime would be for the remaining episodes because, you know, every fan wants the episodes to be long. So far, we've heard several rumors around the finale's runtime, and, well, Netflix has recently confirmed the official length of Episode 8.

The highly-anticipated fifth season of Netflix's Stranger Things definitely gets off on the wrong foot and sets a bad first impression.

Stranger Things Season 5 Final Episode Will Be Over Two Hours Long

That's right, The Rumors Around The Runtime Were True

  • Stranger Things Season 5 Final Episode Will Be 2 Hours 5 Minutes Long
  • The final episode will also get a limited theatrical release.

Before Volume 1's release, there were rumors that the final episode of Stranger Things Season 5 would be over two hours long. Well, guess what? This time, the leaks were actually true. Netflix recently confirmed that the finale will flex an impressive runtime of two hours and five minutes.

Volume 3, or Episode 8, is scheduled to release on New Year's Eve, i.e, December 31st. Surprisingly, the streaming giant announced that Episode 8 will have a limited fan screening in 500 select theaters across the US and Canada on the same day. The screenings will begin roughly at 5 p.m. PT, which is the exact time when the episode will also release on Netflix for global fans. Fans in the US and Canada can visit the ST5Finale website to see which theaters are selected for the screenings and can reserve seats in the theater near them.

Sure, it's exciting that the final episode is as long as we expected, but at the same time, you should know that the final episode of Season 4 was two hours and thirty minutes long. In that regard, the final episode of Season 5 is shorter. On top of that, Season 4 had a total of nine episodes, whereas the final season will end with eight episodes. However, every fan surely expects the series to get a satisfying ending instead of seeing the story stretched out for one more episode.

What's The Runtime For Stranger Things Season 5 Volume 2 Episodes?

Netflix Has Yet To Reveal More Details Around Volume 2

While the runtime for the Season 5 finale has been confirmed, Netflix hasn't officially confirmed the same detail for Episodes 5-7. However, some rumors state that Episode 5 of the fifth season will run for about 1 hour and 17 minutes. Episode 6, on the other hand, will be comparatively shorter with a runtime of around 58 minutes. Finally, the seventh episode will boast a run time of 1 hour and 37 minutes. But these runtimes for Volume 2 haven't been officially confirmed by Netflix, so take this information with a grain of salt.

There is actually something we know for sure about Volume 2 — the episode titles. That's right, Duffer Brothers revealed the titles of every Season 5 episode ahead of Volume 1's release. Here you go:

  • Episode 5: Shock Jock
  • Episode 6: Escape from Camazotz
  • Episode 7: The Bridge
  • Episode 8: The Rightside Up

Obviously, it's tough to predict everything from episode titles, but they do hint at what's coming. Escape from Camazotz, for instance, will clearly be centered around Max (and Holly) escaping Vecna's mind-prison. At the same time, The Bridge likely hints at the bridge between the two worlds. But it's hard to say whether this bridge is some character or something else entirely. Finally, the Rightside Up means the victory of the real world over the Upside Down. But of course, the victory in the final episodes won't come without some sacrifices. It's for sure that some characters won't make it to the final episode, but who exactly? Well, we'll have to wait until Volume 2's release to get that answer.
