Looking like somewhat of a departure from the most recent Final Fantasy titles, Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin is being cautiously anticipated by most fans of the JRPG series. With Team Ninja at the helm, the developer behind Ninja Gaiden and Nioh, some fans are wondering just how far Stranger of Paradise will stray from Final Fantasy's usual gameplay formula. From the trailers released so far, it seems as though Stranger of Paradise is keeping relatively close to the most recent Final Fantasy entries, with RPG mechanics at its core, but an emphasis on fast-paced real-time combat.

Though many players who tried the Stranger of Paradise's demo had a great deal of criticism for the game, it seems as though Team Ninja has listened, and has taken on player feedback to fine tune the game's mechanics and overhaul some aspects that just didn't work for some. With a release date slated for next month, Stranger of Paradise has been releasing trailers at a regular pace, with the latest one showcasing some new Job classes that should add quite a bit of variety to the gameplay.

What Stranger of Paradise's Job Classes Are

Essentially, Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin's Jobs are character classes, each giving the player a unique fighting style. Along with a unique fighting style, each Job gives the player a different set of equipment, as well as a handful of special abilities. These Jobs can be unlocked over the course of the game, and can be leveled up, giving the player an upgraded set of skills and equipment.

According to the information released, Stranger of Paradise will feature 27 different Jobs that players can unlock and use. While this sounds great on paper, apparently players will only be able to choose two Jobs at a time, meaning that the initial choice of a class may be a bit overwhelming to some.

Stranger of Paradise's 27 Jobs are split into three distinct categories, Basic, Advanced, and Expert. While the 27 Job classes have all been confirmed, it hasn't been officially stated which Jobs belong to which categories. Though, it has been confirmed that players will start with the Swordsman Job class, which equips the player with a giant greatsword, and provides abilities that focus on close-quarters melee combat.

What The Tyrant Job Class Does

Revealed in the most recent Job class breakdown trailer, Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin will be bringing some wholly new classes to the game. While classes like the Thief, Paladin, and Dark Knight have all appeared in previous Final Fantasy games, the newly unveiled Tyrant class is brand new to the franchise.

The Tyrant class seems like the perfect choice for players who prefer to plan before the battle ahead, and use as much strategy as possible during the fight. The Tyrant Job imbues the player's weapon with various elemental effects, such as fire. These elemental effects with give the player the ability to inflict some serious damage, especially if the target is hit in a weak spot.

A Tyrant player will need to use strategy carefully in order to use the class to its best ability, as it doesn't seem to be the outright strongest class in the game. Players will need to choose the right elemental effect for the job, using their enemies' weakness against them to bring them down quickly. Players can look forward to seeing more about the Tyrant class ahead of the game's release.

Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin releases on March 18, 2022, for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
