Raising animals is one of the key features in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life, as players take charge of their father's old farm in a small village called Forgotten Valley. Besides growing crops, animals are a primary source of income for the farm. Players start with a Cow, but there are other species they can get, including a Goat.

Players can purchase a Nanny Goat after reaching a certain point in the gameplay. The Goat is a good investment because its milk can be sold for a high price. So, here's everything players need to know to get a Goat in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life.

How To Purchase A Goat

A Wonderful Life

Unlike Sheep and Cows, players cannot purchase a Goat using the Ledger in Year One. They can only buy a Nanny Goat from Van starting in Spring of Year Two. Van is a traveling salesman who visits Forgotten Valley on the third and eighth of each season.

He will have one Nanny Goat in his inventory during the Spring Season for 40,000G. Players can save up for it by selling other animal products, flowers, fish, and resources in Forgotten Valley. Anything grown on the farm can be sold using the Shipping Bin, but players must use Van to sell flowers, fish, and herbs.

A Wonderful Life

Van will only have the Nanny Goat in the Spring Season, so players must ensure they have room in their barn while he has one in stock. The starter barn can hold up to eight animals. There is a barn upgrade that holds 16 animals, which can be purchased on the Ledger for 120,000G. After buying the Nanny Goat, players will go to their barn with Van and name her.

What Are Goats Used For?

A Wonderful Life

Goats are like Cows and can be milked once a day. The amount and quality they produce depend on the season, as well as their health and happiness. Players can check their goat's heart levels on the black chalkboard inside the barn. To increase their affection, snuggle, feed, brush, and talk to them daily. Goats won't produce milk on the first day of the following year. By Spring Two, they'll be ready to go again. Players can get a second Goat in Year Three if their barn has an open spot.

Goat Milk is one of the most valuable resources on the farm outside Sheep Wool. Its sell price depends on its grade:
