In Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar, crop quality determines the amount of G you will get for selling it at either Miguel's Mercantile Shop or in your Bazaar stall. To increase crop quality, Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar players have two options: use Fertilizer, or use higher-quality seeds.
You are given some Fertilizer at the start of the game during the farming tutorial, but to get more Fertilizer, you'll have to either buy it or craft it. To get high-quality seeds in Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar, you'll have to fertilize a crop, then turn it into high-quality seeds with the Grinder.
How To Get & Craft Fertilizer
There are two ways to get Fertilizer in Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar: by purchasing it from Miguel's Mercantile Shop in central Zephyr Town, or by crafting it yourself. For the first six days of the game, you can only get Fertilizer by purchasing it from Miguel.
However, once reach day 6 and unlock access to the unique Red Windmill at your farm, you can process two Weeds into one Fertilizer.
-
At Miguel's Mercantile Shop, Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar players can purchase 1x Fertilizer for 28 G apiece.
- Miguel's Mercantile Shop is open from 8 a.m. To 10 p.m.
-
After you fix the Red Windmill at the bottom-left of the farm, Story of Seasons players can process 2x Weeds and create 1x Fertilizer.
- There are lots of weeds around Zephyr Town, which can be cut with your Scythe (which you should have received a few days before the Hatchet).
- Alternatively, you can process any single Rotten Item into 1x Fertilizer. Food and produce will go bad if you leave them in your inventory or storage for too long.
How To Use Fertilizer in Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar
To use Fertilizer, Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar players must hold it in their hand and highlight the seed they want to fertilize. Like tools, you can fertilize several spaces at once if you jump in the air before you place it.
To successfully raise the quality level of a crop, you must use Fertilizer every day while it is growing. If you only place Fertilizer once, or forget a day while the seed is growing, the yield will be of its base quality.
How To Get Higher Quality Seeds
There is another way to get higher-quality crops in Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar. Later in the game, after you reach Bazaar Level 4, you will unlock the ability to repair and access the Grinding Windmill. This Windmill is unique because it lets you break down items to create other items.
Among other items, you can place a crop into the Grinding Windmill factory to process a certain number of seeds for that crop. Importantly, the quality of the original crop carries over to the seeds. When harvesting high-quality crops, save a few to break down into high-quality seeds. When these are planted, the base quality of the resulting crop will be increased, which can then be fertilized further.
Continue this cycle of breaking down high-quality crops into high-quality seeds, then fertilizing those seeds, to eventually be able to grow 5-Star crops. In Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar, 5-Star Crops sell for the maximum amount, so start breeding high-star seeds as soon as you unlock the Grinding Windmill.
