Summary
- The latest Stellar Blade update makes summer event permanent and adds new features like map pins and Ammo Package.
- Shift Up continues to support Stellar Blade with frequent updates, focusing on fan feedback and new content.
- A future update will add a Nier: Automata crossover to the game.
Developer Shift Up has released a brand-new update for the popular PlayStation 5 action game Stellar Blade. Stellar Blade launched last April as a timed PS5 console exclusive, earning mostly positive reviews from critics and coming away as the best-selling game in the month of its release, which is especially impressive for a new IP.
Shift Up has continued to support Stellar Blade post-launch with various updates that have addressed fan feedback and added new content. New content has mainly included fresh outfits for Stellar Blade protagonist Eve, though there have also been things like the Great Desert Oasis that was added as part of the summer event.
Now yet another update is available for Stellar Blade fans to download. Most notably, it makes Stellar Blade's popular summer event a permanent fixture in the game, with players able to toggle it on and off. Previously, the Summer Event was going to be limited-time, so this feature will undoubtedly be appreciated by fans. Other changes include the ability to mark pins on the map, the new item Ammo Package that lets players restock all their ammo at once, a purchase confirmation to keep players from accidentally wasting their money when they try to spend over 15,000 gold at once, and "visual improvements of conflicts between Eve's body."
The latter was given a visual representation by Shift Up. Basically, in situations where Eve's arms would clip through her breasts during cutscenes, they will instead push together. Stellar Blade has never been shy about showing off Eve, and it's certainly taking things a step further with the new update.
While Stellar Blade fans will no doubt appreciate the new update, it's worth pointing out that there are even more exciting things on the horizon. It was recently announced that Stellar Blade is crossing over with Nier: Automata, with 2B set to appear in the game in some capacity. The full scope of Stellar Blade's Nier: Automata crossover has yet to be revealed, but more information on that front should come to light in the weeks ahead.
In the meantime, Stellar Blade fans will also get to see Eve in a completely different game. A Stellar Blade VIP Bot is making its way to critically-acclaimed 3D platformer Astro Bot as part of its fall update. An exact date has yet to be revealed, but Stellar Blade fans can expect the bot version of Eve to make her debut at some point between now and mid-December.
