Steel Seed's Release Date Trailer Teases Its Story

Steel Seed's release date was announced with a new trailer that includes roughly 70 seconds of gameplay footage and some dramatic narration from what may be the game's main antagonist. The narrator questions Zoe's allegiances and implores her to stop fighting because she isn't human, a notion that she ultimately rejects. The footage included in the trailer is a mix of stealth and action gameplay, paired with some fast-paced platforming sections. While combat will usually be an option, staying stealthy will be the key to survival in Steel Seed.

Zoe will be accompanied by a flying drone called Koby over the course of the game. The flying ally will help her during both combat and stealth sections, in addition to offering guidance for solving puzzles. Italian developer Storm in a Teacup is also describing Koby as Zoe's "emotional anchor," who will help her brave the desolate sci-fi world of Steel Seed.

In between stealth, combat, puzzle-solving, and platforming, Steel Seed players will also have a chance to interact with some RPG elements. The game promises to offer three skill trees spanning 40 upgrades in total. Steel Seed can currently be wishlisted on Steam, EGS, and the PlayStation Store. Its Xbox/Microsoft Store page is expected to go live in the coming days, as its April 10 release draws nearer.
