Sid Meier's Civilization 7 and Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 are currently the two best-selling paid games on Steam, even though neither of them is out yet. In fact, three of Steam's current five "Top Sellers" have gotten to where they are on the strength of their pre-orders alone.
Civilization 7 was announced in June 2024, with its pre-orders opening two months later. Meanwhile, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has been available for pre-purchase since January 2025, nine months following its official reveal.
Red Dead Redemption 2 Breaks Its Steam Player Count Record
Red Dead Redemption 2 once again breaks its own record for its Steam concurrent player count peak.
Both Civilization 7 and Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 appear to have already generated immense commercial momentum, at least on Steam. As of February 2, the next entry in the Civilization franchise leads the premium section of the Top Sellers chart on Valve's storefront. Even when compared to free-to-play titles, the upcoming 4X strategy surpasses every game except for Counter-Strike 2, which is still leading in overall player spending on the store. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is right behind Civilization 7 on both versions of the chart.

Warhorse Studios' open-world RPG has a feasible chance to surpass Civilization 7 on Monday, February 3, when the Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 preload goes live on Steam. The game itself is scheduled to hit the market on February 4. Civilization 7 releases exactly a week later, on the 11th. It will also have a preload (at least on some platforms), which will go live no later than February 5, because its early access period starts on the 6th. Anyone wanting to play the upcoming strategy game early will be able to do so by pre-ordering either its Digital Deluxe or Founders Editions, priced at $99 and $119.99, respectively. Civilization 7 preload hasn't yet been confirmed for the PC version of the game.
Steam's current list of paid Top Sellers also includes Monster Hunter Wilds, at number four. That's another title that found itself here on the strength of its pre-orders alone, as it's only scheduled to hit the market at the tail end of the month.
February 2025 Is Absolutely Stacked With Major Game Releases
February 2025 is overall absolutely packed with major game releases, as it also includes Avowed and Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, which are slated to debut on the 18th and 28th, respectively. Other notable titles releasing in the next four weeks include Rift of the NecroDancer, The Legend of Heroes: Trails Through Daybreak 2, and Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered. Additionally, Lost Records: Bloom and Rage (Tape 1) and PGA Tour 2K25 launch on February 18 and 28, respectively.
