From now until July 1, Steam users have the chance to claim the award-winning episodic game Tell Me Why for free. Even though Steam doesn't have its own dedicated free game program like the Epic Games Store does, users are still able to get plenty of freebies from the platform. Indeed, anyone that keeps an eye out for when the free Steam games are available should have a huge library of free games by now.

The catch with free Steam games, like many other times games are given away for free, is that they are only up for grabs for a limited time. If a Steam user misses out on claiming the free game for their digital libraries when it was free, most of the time it means they are out of luck and will have to buy it if they're interested. That being said, there are rare occasions when games are given away for free on Steam more than once, and that is the case with the latest freebie on the platform.

Tell Me Why is free on Steam until July 1. For those who may not be familiar with the game, Tell Me Why is a narrative-driven, episodic adventure game from Dontnod Entertainment, the same company that made the first two Life is Strange games. Tell Me Why is the story of twins with special abilities who are attempting to solve the mystery behind their mother's death. The game was notable for featuring a transgender character as one of the main playable characters.

Tell Me Why is Free on Steam Right Now

Tell Me Why reviews were mixed, but the game still managed to take home multiple awards. It won Games for Impact at The Game Awards 2020 and Outstanding Video Game from the GLAAD Media Awards, among other honors. With the game available as a free download, there's no reason why Steam users shouldn't give it a shot and come to their own conclusions about it.

As mentioned previously, this isn't the first time Tell Me Why has been given away for free. It's become an annual Pride Month tradition to give away Tell Me Why, giving more gamers the chance to check it out and experience the story for themselves. It should be noted that not only is Tell Me Why currently free on Steam, but it's also free on Xbox as well. The free game giveaway lasts until July 1, so those interested have about a month to add Tell Me Why to their digital libraries for free.
