Mouthole is currently available for free on Steam, but gamers will only have a short window to claim the title before it’s delisted. Games often get delisted from Steam for several different reasons, but the developers of Mouthole have at least decided to give away the title to as many gamers as possible before stopping to sell it on the popular platform.

Peaking at over 40 million concurrent users recently, Steam is currently the most popular PC gaming platform in the world. In 2024, over 18,000 new titles were added to the platform, meaning that it’s very easy to miss incredible games, including the ones that are free.

Developed by Anything Nose Productions, Mouthole is currently free on Steam for a limited time before it’s delisted. In a recent update, the developers announced that the studio would no longer continue operating, and as a result of this, Mouthhole would be free to claim on Steam until it’s removed “soon.” At the moment, Mouthole has Very Positive reviews on Steam, and it seems like a hidden gem, as not many gamers seem to have played it.

Steam Players Can Claim Mouthole For a Limited Time Before It's Delisted

In this incredibly surrealistic game made with pixel art, players can enter 10 distinct worlds by exploring their own mouth. The adventure will have them solving puzzles, working on their fitness to survive, and also “investing in the stock market,” according to the devs. Mouthole’s Steam description makes it seem like a short, weird game with 11 endings, and a big focus on story and exploration. After Mouthole is finally removed from Steam, gamers will still be able to download it and its soundtrack from itch.io and Bandcamp respectively, according to the developers, which is good news for anyone who missed the chance to claim them.

Mouthole is not the only title currently being given away on Steam, though. Players have until May 20 to claim Cast & Spell on Steam. Developed by Hosthood Studio, this is a multiplayer title in which gamers fight each other using spells. The title is still in early access, and it’ll be sold for $8 after this short giveaway.

Unfortunately, Mouthole is also not the only game to be delisted from Steam, and it’ll certainly not be the last. Recent reports have indicated that Warhammer 40K: Armageddon and Sanctus Reach will be delisted from the platform after May 19. Unlike Mouthole, however, they will not be able to be claimed for free, but will remain available for sale on GOG.
