A strange Steam game, titled A Story About Farting, is available for free until June 2. It is one of those weird games on Steam that has a surprisingly huge number of players.

Throughout the years, Steam has seen its catalog of unusual games growing, with some of those instances also attracting an influx of players. Back in 2024, the Banana game became known for captivating Steam players and witnessed a concurrent player peak of over 900,000 at the height of its popularity. Interestingly, it wasn't the only time a clicker game had gone viral, as Cookie Clicker had experienced a similar upward trend around the time of its launch in late 2013. At present, another game in the same genre, A Story About Farting, has gone free on Valve's platform for the first time since its release in April 2024, offering players a good incentive to check the game out.

10-Year-Old Steam Account Has Seemingly Racked Up Over 50,000 Hours on One Game

One Steam account racks up more than 50,000 hours on a single game, and some fans are debating how this could have been achieved.

On May 30, A Story About Farting by Lizard Games Studio went up for grabs for free, with the offer ending on June 2. The casual game simply requires the player to click endlessly on the screen to play. Clicking makes Fatty, one of the game's characters, fart or belch with each press of the button. Upon reaching a certain number of clicks, a new in-game achievement is awarded to the player, almost a combined 100 of which can be unlocked within the game and on Steam. Apart from Fatty, some other characters available to choose from are Fat Granny and Mustachioed Pig. Per the developer's announcement, the clicker title has roped in over 300,000 players from Steam's large user-base despite featuring simplistic gameplay and taking just two to four hours to finish. Boosted by the recent milestone, the developer also shared its plan to eventually roll out gameplay upgrades, free DLCs, and possibly another game set in the same universe, among other things.

A Story About Farting Goes Free on Steam

A Story About Farting may be a suitable fix for those looking for a casual gaming experience on Steam right now. However, those looking for something deeper also have another limited-time free title that could potentially meet their needs, with Tell Me Why going free on Steam until July 1.

Besides the aforementioned freebies, there's more exciting news around Steam at the moment. The Steam Next Fest, which will see demos for forthcoming Steam games take center stage, is scheduled to take place from June 9 to June 16.
