A bold gamer managed to play Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen for over 15,000 hours on Steam, a really incredible feat. Dragon’s Dogma is one of the best RPGs about monster slaying ever released, and many gamers have spent hundreds of hours playing it.

Dragon’s Dogma was originally launched back in 2012, and it received an enhanced edition for Steam in 2016. Recently, Dragon’s Dogma’s player count surged on Steam after the announcement of a sequel and the 10th year anniversary of the franchise, but it seems that one gamer never truly forgot this title.

A Reddit user called Ltennol has recently discovered that one gamer had 15,030.2 hours of Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen on Steam. The user, whose name was blurred by the poster, wrote a review about the RPG, affirming that Dragon’s Dogma was “so much fun” and one of the best games on Steam. To put this in perspective, a person would need to play around five hours every single day since the title’s release on Steam in 2016 to reach this mark.

In the comments of the post, most users were as surprised as Ltennol, as achieving this feat is essentially as time-consuming as having a full-time job. Others, however, commented it was possible that this person just left their computer open with the game for several hours, and was not actually playing the whole time. While Dragon’s Dogma could be defended as an excellent RPG worth replaying by its fans, it’s a fully single-player experience with a campaign that lasts around 40 to 60 hours, so it’s surprising that someone could play for that long.

Fortunately, Dragon’s Dogma fans will not need to play the original game forever, as Dragon’s Dogma 2 has already been announced. Dragon’s Dogma 2 will feature a significantly larger map than its predecessor, as well as a new race, and there's a chance it could be released by 2024, despite not having an official release date yet. Recently, the game’s director, Hideaki Itsuno, has also confirmed that the new title will give the team a chance to try some things that were not possible due to hardware limitations when the first game was released, offering an improved, larger experience to players.

Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen is available on PC, PS3, PS4, Switch, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
