After renting a ride in Starsand Island, you might be haunted by a notification saying, "Please go to the App to pay after the rental ends," when you go to bed. However, upon opening your phone, there's no App to pay for the rental. Thankfully, this is only a matter of bad instructions, and not a missing feature. Here's how to pay for the ride rental in Starsand Island.

Rides In Starsand Island
Starsand Island is a big place, so traversing on foot is not ideal, and you'll be wasting so much time doing so. Thankfully, the game provides you with methods to move faster by giving you rental passes early. You can also build Bus Stops by progressing through the Island Life tasks.
When you first speak to Pastelle and do her ranching trials, you'll get a rental pass for one of her ride animals. Later on, you can also get a Scooter Rental Pass in Starsand Island, which allows you to rent a bike for free.
If you don't wish to keep paying rent for vehicles, you can also head to Neona's shop to get blueprints to make your own ride. However, this requires midgame items, so you'll have to work hard to craft your own transport.
Additionally, some rides in Starsand Island also have specific features. For example, the Hoverboard can hover upward, allowing you to reach higher places; animals can all jump, making it easier to traverse tricky terrains; boats can travel on water, enabling access to faraway islands or the ocean; meanwhile, a motorcycle can't jump, but has a faster speed limit.
Certain bikes and cars can also take two passengers, allowing you to have a ride around town with other residents. Note that you need to reach a certain heart level before you can make a bonded character follow you around.
