How to Unlock the Farming Profession in Starsand Island
To get started with becoming an Expert Farmer, you must begin the main questline for the Farming profession. This can be done by reading a letter from Graminova inside their Mailbox before tracking him to his store, the Happiness Seed Shop.
He can be found in the garden behind the store, and after speaking to Graminova, you can accept quests which will allow you to learn and master the Farming profession. These quests serve as certification for which, after their completion, you'll obtain a rank and unlock related items, blueprints, and more from the store.
Additionally, there are unique perks that can be unlocked via the Workpedia app by spending Starsand, but also require obtaining a Farming certification to unlock the corresponding perks.
How to Grow Crops in Starsand Island
After mastering the art of gardening through the Farming profession from Graminova, it's now time to take everything you've learned and put it into practice. Growing crops in Starsand Island is easy to learn and master, as all that is required is having some land, seeds, farming tools, and plenty of time (or fertilizer).
You can craft a gardening Stone Hoe at the Workbench and equip it to the hotbar before use. Switch to the gardening Stone Hoe and select an available tillable plot to plow or dig before planting seeds.
Pay attention to each seed bag description as it provides important information, including the planting requirement, growth period, number of crops yielded per harvest, and best time to plant, just to name.
There are a few crops, like Garlic for example, whose seeds can be planted in a Planting Box, which can be crafted at the Workbench once you've acquired the blueprint. Once seeds have been planted, don't forget to use your Watering Can to water the crops. If you empty the can, refill it at a nearby water source or Hand Pump on your plot, and interact with it.

If you need your crops to grow faster, you can use fertilizer to accelerate growth, making them ready for harvest much sooner. Weedings may appear at any point during the growth period, and the best course of action is to remove them promptly.
Finally, once the crops are ready, they can harvest them and use them in multiple applications, including eating them to replenish their HP, cooking dishes, or producing fertilizer and other by-products. Harvestable crops can also be sold to Aurelis, the owner and head chef at Aureleaf Kitchen, or to fulfill various requests from the Community Center board.
How to Level Up Farming in Starsand Island
If you're looking for a quick way to level up your farming proficiency, there isn't a faster way, as you will need to unlock every farming certification. This can only be achieved by completing the Farming profession questline with Graminova and completing all relevant tasks to earn the Apprentice, Junior, Intermediate, Senior, and Expert Farmer certifications.
This grants you access to more seeds, blueprints, and fertilizer options, and in turn, unlocks new crops to grow and more opportunities to earn more Coins when selling your newly harvested crops and fresh produce. Likewise, you will also unlock new recipes available to purchase, meaning more delicious meals to cook at home.
